Moffat just said in a recent interview that the daleks are being put to sleep for the foreseeable future. Actually here is the news article, 30 May: http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/entertainment-arts-13594932

I would be annoyed if it was the daleks behind all this. They are the most incompetent enemy the doctor has had to face.

I thought the point of the cot was it was written in Gallifrey so only a time lord could read it. As even the Tardis can't translate it. He knows by then that Amy's baby has Timelord DNA and River says she is showing him by reading it. She also knows his 'real name' and I'm guessing that is what is on the cot.

It could just be something simple thou like the tech in the cot changes the name to match the babe in it. I know it was only ever the avatar in the cot but Melody would be linked to the avatar.

I did have the thought that maybe the cot was linked to how the doctor regenerates but I'm going off the idea now.

I thought the cot was the doctors cot, ie the cot that he slept in as a child.

amy says "look the doctors first stars" when she sees the stars on the mobile.

I thought River Song was referring to the prayer leaf. Look again, its Rory/Amy that assumes the Gallifreyan has something to do with what they're talking about.

Moffet confirmed that it in a tweet.

@steven_moffat Epic!!! One thing I didn't understand: How would the gallifreyan words on the cot indicate Rivers identity to the Doctor?

Yeah I agree it was the Doctors. Also Alex Kingston said on Confidential that it was the Doctors name on the cot. But maybe more than one baby slept in it.

He would have only seen one side and wasn't there when it was given to her.

As above, I think she is still hot, but as above, I am older too and she is closer to my age. Conversely the younger , firmer Amy Pond does absolutely nothing for me.

I think she is pretty hot there , doctors uniform, curvy, nice !

Shes not so hot in the grange hill bits, but then again she is a kid there and old enough to be my daughter (young lasses just dont do anything for me, I like women of my age

I remember from that episode where Tennant got his hand chopped off (sorry, I can't remember what it was called) that it took the Tardis some time to start translating, so surely if the Tardis is not present at all it wouldn't work :confused:

It doesnt take a genius to work out who the prayer leaf was for (Amys baby), which was lying in the cot he had brought out, and putting 1 and 1 together when it read 'River' with River Song telling him that she was giving him a clue to who she was
