Dg in talking rubbish shocker!

But they will be 'reducing' the game for the 360 due to it's hardware so basing a PC's specs on the xbox is wrong.

True, yet Dg persists in 'advising' people with incorrect information

hi thanks for your reply, what card will give me a high setting.

It's all guess work by everyone at the moment, probably best to wait until DICE actually release some spec details

So I haven't been keeping up to date with everything going on in BF3, apart from the few in game clips recently shown and the fault line trailers.

Has any information been released on the use of DX11 for eye candy? I did hear somewhere that the game supposedly was not at maximum settings for the fault line series, and someone (from dice?) had suggested it would not run acceptably at maximum settings on the system they were using to produce the trailers.

There was a slide show link posted way back showing some examples and technical stuff to do with the Dx11 effects in the game

I'm just going to wait for the demo/beta, then upgrade when my money can get better spec gear. At times my setup struggles with bc2 framerate so I don't hold out much hope(!)

Is there any word on what anti-air weapons will feature in BF3?

I hope to heck the tracer dart thing is no longer around, and is replaced by an actual real world weapon.

The tracer dart adds a skilled element to the game (I know it's annoying and unrealistic, but gameplay/balance is more important).

Imagine if there was heatseeking missiles? Be pointless wasting your time getting in a heli.

Heat seeking missiles are fine as long as countermeasures work realistically, and are not something you have to pick to use but have to resupply at the pad.

What would be great is if there was one type of hand held launcher that was terrible against everything apart from aircraft (all other launchers being useless for aircraft), which would make less people take it as long as there is a nice balance of ground-air units, as usually tanks and APC's are more focused by engineers anyway.

trying to tracer dart a fast jet though would be impossible.

heatseaking stationary AA missiles that need say 3-5 seconds held over target to get a lock (other wise they're just unguided).

so that the ground troops have to cover the AA to protect the jets, and take down the enemies.

I would like some kind of guided missile, but make it possible for the pilot to evade it through evasive maneuver and the use of flares. Not so easy that anti-air becomes pointless, but so the really good pilots have a chance.

What is the actual protocol when a jet gets a lock-on in real life?

flares, chaff and cry a little. Is the SOP iirc :p

For people saying an AA missile that's useless against the ground, what about things like the British Starstreak which can be AA or anti (light) tank. Plus lets face it how could would a triple rocket firing missile be in game? :p

But i think any AA missile fired on a ground target would still have a substantial amount of fuel left when it detonated compared to an aircraft hit so would have a bigger explosion and be more deadly to light vehicles/infantry than it's warhead would suggest..
