Has there been any discussion about our own OcUK server? I would be willing to run it, but I wouldn't mind some donations to keep it alive (eg. Minecraft server).

That depends you can easily portray it as Israel's struggle against a massively outnumbering enemy :p

We both know that if this game is ever produced, the 'massively outnumbering enemy' will be America and it'll turn out all along that Israel were the bad guys and USA are the shining light of divine justice

One thing I don't understand.

Say BF3 is optimised for quad cores which I am sure it will be. It will also be released on Xbox 360 which has 3 physical cores if I am correct. So how will three cores handle the data intended to be processed by 4 cores?

In other words how does Xbox 360 keep up with PC in gameplay mechanics and thus providing same gaming experience as pc ignoring graphics?

PS3 has 7 co-processors (SPEs) so that is no problem.

I noticed that if you preoder you get an expansion pack free. Where do I have to preorder to get the 'free map' EA by any chance or can I order if from other websites for free contect. At 40 squid from EA it makes it poor value.

Any pre-order gets those maps, GAME and Gamestation are the only sites with the physical warfare pack which is a timed exclusive weapons pack.

Consoles have no real overheard in terms of OS to worry about. Nomatter what windows is always snagging some power behind the scenes. So they can pretty much use all the consoles horsepower, which makes them somewhat more efficient. Wasn't that long ago amd were talking about coding to bare metal which would remove opengl\d3d and the overheads associated with them.

I doubt the console iterations will be identical in terms of mechanics, id think the destruction would have to be toned down a bit.

Just because it may be optimised for quad cores doesn't mean it NEEDs quad cores, just that it can take advantage of them. The main advantage of more cores is being able to do more things at the same time, some games are coded in a way that does 1 thing, maybe 2, at the same time, this leaves extra cores idle, doing nothing. If the game is optimised for multiple cores then it can do more things at the same time. With computers with less cores the game performs the same actions but it can't process stuff at the same time, and if critical stuff can't be processed due to the core already being busy then this results in poor performance.

Bad company is a console game. BF2 was pc but also appeared on 360 in some form and it gave me a headache, lots of bots. Didnt work, I notice they made no mention of it in bf history so either forgotten or a reminder the two platforms dont really overlap to each others benefit
