Id like to see a better kill radius, (if claymores are included), would be good to be able to take out tightly bunched squads, i found them very useful in joint operations, also very good for covering the approaches from behind you, particularly when sniping.

Dream on dude, I think even if claymores are in the game, the kill radius will be very narrow, altho unrealistic imagine the rage of a whole squad getting wiped out by a single claymore :S

And there would be a million admins saying NO CLAYMORES EVOR.

Because if used efficiently, it kills too many people and hurts their playtime.

No if claymores were in the game I would hope that they would not be avaliable on Recon, they don't deserve that level of protection from my knife rampages.

well unless they've massively upped the damage from snipers to the point a foot shot is fatal at all ranges the holdignbreath requirement + their other reductions of quick scoping means recon is so neutered it's going to be useless.

all it will be is camping snipers who cant hit anything and even if they do hit no chance of a follow up shot and no chance of even having a rushing recon for support.

They probably will have made it so atleast a body shot is a one hit kill...just like real sniper rifles. Military snipers are taught to go for the body rather than the head as it is easier to get hits and you still get guaranteed kills. Only police snipers go for headshots but they shoot at much shorter ranges.

they've nerfed long range sniping to stop camping and neferd mid and close range sniping.

so basically there's not much the snipers can do any more.

You don't know that. I'd like to see body shots being one shot kills for long range rifles but also the inclusion of semi auto marksman rifles for midrange shooting.
Didn't one of the trailer analysies/anaylsises/whatever point out that there was a semi auto rifle with a big scope on it?
I think you are jumping the gun a bit here.

As much as this news makes me happy - no matter how hard they nerf sniping, you'll still get a quarter of your team on some hill doing nothing to help.

It's just the nature of the "I'm a pro lone wolf youtube montage killing" beast.

Indeed!

The default US sniper rifle in BF3 is the M110

I also do not think they have nerfed sniper rifles that much, its more a case of they have made it more difficult to get off quick-accurate shots, but long range sniping will not be a problem, it will be more realistic if anything.

Oh sweet, if its anything like the one in MoH it will be awesome.

Anti-Tank Mines were highly effective against vehicles only as a 'fire and forget' weapon. Most importantly, they required good placing, eg, in water or in bushes, or just over the crest of a small hill, but ALWAYS somewhere a vehicle is likely to actually go, so any competent tank driver should only very rarely get killed by them.

Claymores are a campers wet dream providing nothing but frustration for people killed by them. They take no skill to place, you just stick them around any corner and they'll go off when someone approaches.

At least when a squad is killed by C4 it was a well placed trap that they actually activated.

What did they actually do to sniping/recons?

They just made it take a bit longer to scope in/out and also added breathing so that you have to hold your breath for long accurate shots.

it will be a problem , they added breathing to try and reduce the long range camp sniping because of prone.

which is going to really reduce the speed a sniper can shoot at and without a 1 hit kill that means it's very unlikely snipers will ever be able to do anything of use for the team and with a 1 hit kill it'll just turn into a camp fest like hardcore.

I think you should withhold some judgement Tefal :)

You dont know this.

Dice know what they're doing, lets wait until we see it in action yeah?

not really, most people cant hit targets at range with the easy snipeing in bc2, make the sniping harder and also remove close range shooting, and you some how think they will get better?

They'll still camp but now they'll be even more useless to their team, and the rushing Recon won't exist to help either.
