*** The Official HTC Desire (Bravo) Thread! ***

Finally got a new ROM up and running. Took 5 attempts to successfully burn a working Alpharev disc. Went with Oxygen in the end as it seems to be the most popular on XDA. Really liking it at the mo, much faster than Sense and no chance of running low on space.

The only problem I had, was switching between home screens. Seemed unresponsive but switching to launcher pro has fixed this.

Looks like the Galaxy S II Mesh hard case design is moving to other phones as my old man bought a mesh one off eBay the other day:

Not bad quality really, doesn't feel as rubbery or as good quality as the Samsung one of course but it's good enough and looks pretty decent too.

Guy need urgent help if possible! Basically today it chucked it down and I only had a thin coat on with my HTC Desire in my pocket. Got home and put the phone on my desk and the screen started to turn itself on and off and sometimes the different things would come up when you hold the power button. Took the rubber casing I have around it off and lo and behold it was filled with water. I immediately took the phone out and dried it, took the back cover off and dried what I could and put it on a radiator for about 30 or so minutes. It seems to be working O.K now but the power button is not working at all. Running CM7 so I can wake the screen with the trackball but there's no way to turn it off other than removing the battery. It also started turning itself on/off before but it's stopped doing it now but again the power button does not work.

Is my phone ****ed or is it fixable? There wasn't very much water in it at all, it was basically damp.

Edit: ****, I can't send text messages for some reason and i've got unlimited texts with giffgaff till the 8th of July. Help me pl0x!

Best thing to do would have been to turn it off, take it apart and leave it in the airing cupboard for a day. There might still be some moisture in your phone if you just put it on the radiator.

Doesnt look too bad that, shame my desire is a little tatty now :(

Just updated to the latest Oxygen. Much faster, but I've lost the info bar along the top (connection type/battery/clock/etc). Any one know how to get it back?

Hmm since upgrading not only have I lost the notification bar at the top, but I don't get pop ups...eg the ability to dismiss alarms.

HTC sent me my Desire S today as they lost my original amoled desire!

I'll update later once it's fully charged

I am using HTC Wildfire at the moment and could go for a desire with £50 on top of wildfire.
Wildfire has a very small scuff on the top side near the power button 8 months old , and the desire is brand new, just used for 2 hours or so.

Edit : I meant to edit that earlier post, but must have clicked on quote! - still half asleep since last night.

Not much of an update as I'm in the pub!

But the signal strength is loads better where I normally would get no signal at all I'm browsing overclockers on 3g!

Also not noticed that much difference with the screens which I thought I would, quite happy with HTC losing my phone now as this will easily do me unfilled Q1 next year

Right, I've bricked my phone.

I tried to install a RUU to revert to stock and it failed. I downloaded about 3 different ones and every one failed with "package incomplete".

Now when I turn my phone on its just stuck on the black HTC screen with four exclamation marks in the corners.

I can't get into recovery or HBOOT. The only thing I can access is fastboot via windows.

I haven't a clue how to use fastboot to fix the problem or if it can even be fixed via fastboot. I've got a nandroid backup but as I can't get into recovery I can't flash it.

Nice problem huh? HEEEEELP :)

Giving this a go today, absolutely *****ing myself. Phone is still buggered from when some water seeped in, hopefully if I give it a clean it might sort it.
