****The Official Samsung Galaxy S II Thread***

How do you drop your phone so much...?

For someone who isn't (assumingly) particularly wealthy, you don't seem to care much about how you treat expensive things.

Most of the time it fell in cars (mates cars, my own car, work vans, I use my phone for the music) on accelerating/braking/corners but because it's not just in my car I can't really solve it with just a phone holder/docker, it will still fall sometimes when in a mates car or in the work vans.
But also a couple of times on its own, mostly in the morning then the alarm goes and I'm still half asleep I often drop things on the ground. Also occasionally when it's charging I accidentally pull the cable or something and it falls.
For the first minute in the morning I'm worse than when I'm drunk in terms of clumsyness.

I can't treat little things like this very well, no matter what costs, it's different with large things, I've never damaged my tv or pc or my car or whatever. Small things just easily fall off something when you make a wrong movement or driving.

its always the way. I've not dropped mine yet and its been in a case since day one. The sony walkman I've had for a while though, i dropped that a week after buying it, caseless, and put a chip in the screen

You should definitely have got a case for it earlier then :p Oh well.

Agreed, but I haven't worked as much recently than usually due to needing to spend more time to uni, hence I was broke 2 weeks before payday :p.

Still, it's not too late, the screen has 1 shallow scratch which nobody will notice if they look at it normally ( you need to point it to reflect a light source to see it) and the pits on the side, who cares :p ?

Ordered a Zenus E'Stime (brown) now that I have some money again, it's a bit too late though the whole right side (on the plastic) is full of pits/dents from falls and I have 1 shallow scratch on the bottom right corner of my screen, it's barely visible but if you know it's there...

Dude seriously, how can you let a new phone get that much abuse... surely you'd think of getting a cheap case and screen protector after the first fall?

When I ordered the phone I was nearly completely broke, I couldn't spare even a fiver, needed all the money I had for fuel...

Plus this is my first ''fragile'' phone, I've never used cases or sleeves or whatever in the past.

Finished the low-use longevity test an hour or so ago. The phone reached 10% battery after exactly 3 days 19 hours, having been used only for a couple of texts and battery checks, and with wi-fi enabled for slightly over three days. I'd say that duration was therefore a pretty good representation of how long the phone can be used with wi-fi disabled and a moderate amount of call time before it fully discharges.

I think I'll be rooting my SGS2 soon - there's stuff like Tegra zone and 'root needed' apps that I want to try out.

Hardly need to read through that many pages ;)

It can be as simple as this:

Flash CF Root (Root, Busybox, and ClockWorkMod (CWM3) recovery) with ODIN
Backup apps/settings
Download ROM of your choice to your phone
Open CWM app on the phone itself, and flash the update
Restore apps/settings

cheers Locke - I think I have the gist of it - although I'll be asking a few questions like what actualy is a kernal, Busybox, and ClockWorkMod?

I'll have a readup myself but if you could give a brief description it would help. cheers.

Thanks for link. Got tegra working fine but not been that impressed by avaliable games. So glad I went with the sg2 over the atrix now. So far tried pinball and the samuai one. What's considered the top games?

Just ordered one of these.

Been umming and ahhing over it for a few days now but I'm really glad I waited and checked out this thread.

I almost paid £50 for the phone on an 18month contract direct with T Mobile a few days ago but after reading through here I got some pointers as to where people were buying from and found a good deal yesterday, a free phone on the exact same contract, but I never pulled the trigger.

And I'm really glad I didn't.

Just went to the same online store this morning to place the order and the same package as yesterday now had 2 months free line rental included! And free Saturday delivery.

So that's £120 saved just because I read through this thread.

Thanks guys!

Anyone looking for a 32gb Class 10 Card? I have found a great price for the Lexar one.

Stock is on order but worth a wait for the price.
