So I need to hire a gold supercar, ideally a lambo or a ferrari, suggestions?

Asking for your bank details, how much you've got in your savings account or what school you went to and for how long is 'completely intrusive'. Asking why you require a gold car is not 'completely instrusive'.

How can you say that when you don't know the reason why I need one? You simply can't.

Keep calm they all are trying to help you believe it or not, it didnt seem unreasonable to ask why gold.

I am calm? I just stated that I expected people to ask questions, I'm not surprised. What I do find slightly frustrating, is that even after I've stated I would rather not disclose the information, people keep plugging away, unnecessary. Either help me or don't, any assistance is much appreciated.

It's the most natural question. If I came on here saying I really need to find a Mercedes E Class with orange seats and I cant find one anywhere, any ideas, the first question to ask would be 'Why Orange seats' given that if this requirement was dropped the task would prove easy.

I think you are missing the point.

'Why do you need a gold car' is not 'completely intrusive'.

'How many sexual encounters have you had' is 'completely instrusive'

Do you see yet or do we need more examples :p

I think its pretty clear nobody knows where you can get a gold supercar from. Heck privately owned ones are so rare they end up in photos on the Daily Mail website let alone ones owned by hire companies!

You'd probably be better off seeing if you could find someone that would let you wrap their car in a gold vinyl wrap for a while, there aren't going to be many actual gold cars around as it's horrendously tasteless

Or get a yellow one and fiddle with the film to give it a gold tone for the shoot.

You're missing the point. You don't know why I specifically need the car in gold. For that reason, you can't judge how intrusive the question is. It's confidential information and for about the 10h time, something I'm not willing to disclose. Also, that seems to be the case, didn't think it would be something easy to track down.

I'm not arguing it's not natural, of course it is. But you don't need to hear my justification, there's NO gain you get from knowing WHY. You're just being nosey.

Thanks for the suggestion but that is horrendously expensive.

Why ask for advice for a project thats obviously so commercially sensitive on a public internet computer forum then?

You're just being nosey.

How dare we indulge our curiorisities instead of dedicating our time to the task at hand - helping you pull a favour for your employer :p

Jesus, you really really want to know don't you. You just can't drop an argument can you? It's getting slightly desperate and pathetic now. Just give it up. Infact, mods just lock this thread up.

This thread is OBVIOUSLY way too commercially sensitive for a public internet computer forum.

So now you realise I'm not going to cave in, you resort to insults.

I don't mind telling you that. He wanted £3,000 for a day.
seems to be about 3x what the supercar hire sites charge but i guess its a very specific gold and im imagining this guy doesnt generally hire it out to anyone.

probably not that bad a deal
