Steam Summer Sale 2011

You are aware its almost certainly going to be on offer for less than that? :p

It's £15 normally so will probably hit £5.10 or even £3.75.

Seriously, I can't understand people who go mad in the sale and buy tons of slightly discounted games instead of waiting for the proper deals.

*Disclaimer - the comment is not aimed at UncleRuckes who's just trying to get laid by buying his lady a zombie game*

I feel bad telling people the harsh truth cause i've been in their siuation before :(. The only game I've bought that's discounted less than 75% is the GTA complete pack since I doubt it'll go lower than 9.99 (I paid 13.99) and cba downloading all those games at a later date with Steam DLs going as slow as a snail.

GTA Classics were on sale a few times for £4.99 and GTA IV Complete was going for around £6.25 so you probably made a right choice.

I bought Scratches too....looks an interesting Horror/Adventure game and not enough of them as it is.

Some websites gave it good reviews, can't go wrong i guess at £3.99.

Scratches is very good. Definitely worth grabbing it at £3.99.

Make sure you play it in the dark, with headphones on. One particular part involving a mask almost made me shriek like a little girl.

The ending sequence, too, is shudder-inducingly good.

I bought Recettear (£3.25) and X3: Terran Conflict (£9.99) last night, I didn't buy the X Superbox because I already have hard copies of X2 and X3:R, and I can't be bothered playing the first one. :)

I don't think much of this "Camp Activities" ticket thing though, I don't like extra content being released for games that I can only get if I do some arse-backwards thing like take part in a competition, or pre-order the game. When I buy a game, I want the full thing, so imagine my disappointment when I saw an X3 prize there that offers a new mission and sector.

Needless to say I won't be buying a game just to get an achievement in it so I can get some tickets to get this extra content for X3, very annoying.

I know, I've been wanting portal 2 and left for dead series for a wee while, Got the lot now, and gifted my extra hl2 to mate, good times.

BEST DEAL SO FAR:

http://store.steampowered.com/sub/7930/

Includes Portal 2 and LFD2

£25 for the ENTIRE valve collection! Absolutely mad.

Epic deal, except for...

You already own the following items in "Valve Complete Pack". You will not receive extra copies of these items when you complete this purchase:

Half-Life 2
Counter-Strike: Source
Counter-Strike: Source Beta
Half-Life 2: Lost Coast
Half-Life 2: Episode One
Portal
Half-Life 2: Episode Two
Team Fortress 2
Left 4 Dead 2

I thought Valve always gave extra copies of their keys if you have duplicates? :(

It as scarey as Amnesia?(which i didn't find hugely scarey but was probably scariest game i've played in a while :p)

Might get Lost Souls if it goes cheap too which seems similar to Scratches.

Bought KOTOR and The force unleashed 2 from todays deals. Been after both for some time now and the prices are right finally :)

Getting REALLY annoyed with the sheer amount of patches being downloaded for games though due to the summer achievement content, plus game developers releasing content/bug fix patches for their games also. Downloaded 4gb in just patches today :s

Missed yesterdays deals, grabbed a few 75% deals today.

ALL DLC: Just Cause 2
Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic
Star Wars: Empire at War Gold Pack
Star Wars Battlefront® II

Looking forward to the next set of 75% deals. :D

Got my eyes on a couple of games in the sales, but not spent anything on the daily deals of yet.

Most of the daily deals I already have, or the price isn't worth the spend so far. So my bank balance is still intact. :D

Does anyone reckon Star Wars: The Force Unleashed II will do any better than 50% off?

I woudn't mind getting Star Wars The Force Unleashed: Ultimate Sith Edition as well but may wait till the discount is better than 33%

You hate free content for games? Some people are hard to please round here. :p

Most of the rewards that are missions or maps will be available as paid content later if you refuse to participate in the activities, and are you really that fussed about a pair of sunglasses for TF2?

Frankly I dont mind spending 15 minutes doing ridiculously easy tasks for free content.

As for the Valve pack being good value. A load of us got the whole thing free for "bending over" and doing their challenges at the Portal 2 release. Much better value. :p
