What film did you watch last night?

Hanna 6/10.

It's a wannabe Taken or Bourne. Whilst the lead actress is superb, the fight scenes were unconvincing, the 'Eddy Izzard-alike' villain was laughable and Cate Blanchett really needs a new dialogue coach as her accent was appalling.

Also, what was it with the media studies student cinematography; yes we know a camera can be an artform, but do we really need unusual angles and crazy pans in every scene...

The Human Centipede I think it was called, About some sick Doctor who kidnaps 3 people & joins them together in an operation, He joins them bum to mouth so the 1st one craps in the 2nd ones mouth & she crapped in the 3rd ones mouth so they were literally joined together by there intestine, He also capped there knee caps.
Sick film but a must see strangely.

Watched sucker punch i have no idea what it was supposed to be about did i miss something blindingly obvious? whilst the cgi action segments were brilliant i made no sense out of much of the story pretty dissapointed tbh

Sunshine on 4HD last night. The first half was brilliant. After that it just felt like they wanted to make a totally different film because some douchey producer went "wait a minute, the nemesis is the hostility of space and the very sun itself..... that's crap we need a bad guy and some action!" We already had a naked crazy guy in Event Horizon, wasn't needed here.

Girl with the Dragon Tattoo

Forty years ago, Harriet Vanger disappeared from a family gathering on the island owned and inhabited by the powerful Vanger clan. Her body was never found, yet her uncle is convinced it was murder and that the killer is a member of his own tightly knit but dysfunctional family. He employs disgraced financial journalist Mikael Blomkvist and the tattooed, ruthless computer hacker Lisbeth Salander to investigate. When the pair link Harriet’s disappearance to a number of grotesque murders from almost forty years ago, they begin to unravel a dark and appalling family history. But the Vangers are a secretive clan, and Blomkvist and Salander are about to find out just how far they are prepared to go to protect themselves. Based on the trilogy of books by Stieg Larsson, to be followed by 'THE GIRL WHO PLAYED WITH FIRE'and 'THE GIRL WHO KICKED THE HORNETS NEST'.

9/10
Absolutely brilliant film, got the English dubbed version. Can't wait to see the other two films.

Not a film as such, but we watched Oranges Are Not The Only Fruit over the weekend. It's a BBC dramatisation from 1991 or thereabouts, based on a book about a woman's experience growing up as a lesbian in a hardline Pentecostal church in the North of England. It was very good, though quite sinister not least because I could well believe that the mentalist side of the church exists in some churches today. Quite scary stuff really. It was very controversial when it was made, what with the lesbianism and the nudity and the portrayal of the church, and that's after they cut bits out of the book that would have really stirred things up!

It was mostly controversial because the lesbianism and nudity was with very young girls!

Bridesmaids - I was expecting something like the Hangover, it wasn't exactly but it was fairly funny. The best part was when they got food poisoning, thats all I'll say about that part but I haven't laughed out loud like that to a film for a long time. 6/10

Paul

This was ok, not particularly funny - I'll give it a generous 5.6/10

Decided to watch this to make up for the disappointment (as it was linked on imdb)

A couple of chuckles at the start and towards the end but was a complete surprise that grabbed my attention for the entire film

7/10 Good - Worth watching

After having received my Lord of the Rings Blu-ray Extended Editions, I felt I had to watch them in order, one a night. :) I haven't seen them in about 6 years.

The Fellowship of the Ring - 7/10

The Two Towers - 9/10

The Return of the King - 8/10

The Day the Earth Stood Still, drew me in but got tired about 1/2 way through. I'm a Keanu (cheer up) Reeves fan, but even his performance couldn't pull it out of the bag for me. Found it predictable, cliched and basic viewing. 4/10.

Likewise, but I felt strangely drawn to watching it. Normally if I have no idea what the plot/idea is then I lose interest but something kept me watching it.

Amazing effects and the babes init mmm mmmm yes indeed. The way it ended I presume they are making another ??

Should be lower given I had no idea what was what but I give it a 6/10

Really enjoyed that film. Stumbled upon it by chance on the BBC, great low budget English comedy
