***The Official Gran Turismo 5 Thread***

Actually I'm noticing slow loading times lately, haven't played any other games in a while but GT5 has just been sat loading for 5 minutes after exiting from a b-spec race.

Have they broken something?
 
TROLLY RAGE TIME :mad: So I try downloading updates and guess what stops at 4% and just keeps going up by 100mins per second on the Estimated time left. Tryed other games same problem all on 4 or 5%, phoned Playstation, enabled UpnP says its not available, called linksys, they are on a crappy mexican phone line and they cut me off 4 times :mad: So now I can't play games, thanks Sony. Oh and I've reset my router 10 times.

PS3 updates or game updates?

I knew you had a beasted up F40 :) dont suppose you know how much quicker it is around curcuit de la sarthe than when its stock ???
 
Has anyone tried the Volkswagen W12 Nardo Concept? I bought one the other day and it's epic! Certainly gave people online a surprise :p

I also really want some new tracks in this game, fed up of them now. Some F1 circuits and BTCC circuits would be great!
 
The Nardo is a beast :D
I'd like some new tracks to, Brands Hatch, Donnington, Estoril to name a few. But we'll never get them, it seems aftercare doesn't go beyond seasonal events which likely take PD all of ten minutes to set up :rolleyes:

Regarding this 5min load time, do you just get the "Gran Turismo 5" logo on the bottom right hand side of the screen? whilst everything else remains black in the background?

I've assumed the game was stuck and was quitting the game (whilst losing a lot of credits etc).
 
Iam getting missing icons in my garage too. I did a quick format of the hdd and saved my game data using the psn+ cloud storage. Got these issues after i did this.

I think sometimes it's the big logo in the middle of the screen. I've had the game freeze for long enough to make me quit (15 minutes+) when accessing my garage online and loading tracks online too. Online garage loading times are especially annoying, I'm bored of racing AI so basically I can't even play the game now.

edit: actually since that post it sat at the loading screen that particular time for 10 minutes more so I quit on that one too.

What a pain, I was planning to do one of the 24hr endurance races this week as well but have been put off incase I finish it and then have the game hang.
 
Well...I picked this up in the early part of the week and im quite suprised how much I'm enjoying it. I refrained from buying when it was first released because of the bad reviews but wish I did now, I'm so far behind everyone else on here haha.

I've been battling my way through the races and managed to buy my first premium car last night (Ferrari 458 :) ) which took aggggges to save for as I couldn't resist picking up a couple of used cars, favourite being a peugeot 106 (currently modified to approx. 180bhp).

Anywho, main point of this post...any tips for the top gear elise race? I can't seem to better 4th at the moment. Either I'm being to aggressive into the corners, the back swings out and I end up in a cloud of smoke or I'm too slow. I cant seem to meet the happy medium.

Feel free to add me too (flatliners99) my friends list looks a little lonely right now :(

Enable ASM (or anti skid... can't remember which), and make sure you're patched right up to 1.10 so you don't get DQ'd everytime you tap somebody.
 
Anybody got any tips for those infuriating Grand Tour special events? I have like 3 left to gold (done the second race, and the last one). I only have the Grand Tour and AMG events left and i have all golds.... already done all the licenses too.

The first one in the Alfa is driving me mad! Using a DS3, manual gearbox and random race assists, but im still half a second short of 1:17.000 :(

The Alfa one was a pain :mad: first start really would be to switch the assists off as I find they slow the car down through corners. I have everything off apart from ABS on 1 regardless of the car.
 
I'm missing 36 cars now from the Used Car Dealership but no matter how many times I reset it the 2 cars I'm specifically looking for just will not show up!!

Doesn't help that I've seen them numerous times in the past!
