Reinstall the latest Kies, make sure it connects ok. Shut Kies, make sure it's not running in the taskbar (also disable auto-run in settings). Then start Odin and connect the phone.

I'm on VillainROM 2.0. updated the kernel to KF2 and Modem/Radio too. All good so far, no wipe needed. Charging to 100 before calibrating battery and noting battery usage on 2.3.4.
 
Ordered the phone :)

£25 a month for 900 mins unlimited texts and internet with no FUP :D

Phone was £50!

this thread needs pruning! its 90% people saying how long the battery lasts... 10% really useful info.... sorry dude read away!
 
Anyone having an issue that they need to disable then re-enable the wifi to get anything to load? This is after leaving the phone idle for a while.

:(
 
Just got my S2 this morning. Loving it so far.

The Nokia 5800 that i had for over 2 years i.ll keep as a phone to take out on nights out drinking. Not risking that with S2.

Now to read through most of this thread.
 
Was I supposed to re-root after installing the 2.3.4 update? I didnt see CWM or SU un apps list anymore, so I just assumed I was supposed to.


Oh yes, and while I remember, is there any way at all to increase the time it takes for the lock screen to activate on this phone? Its an infuriatingly short time before you need to re-enter it.

Yes they've added an option to delay it if the phone locks itself.

Does anybody know why market is expecting me to pay for apps I've already paid for a couple weeks back when I try to re download them?

Just moved to villan for the first time, got everything including modem done but i still have a yellow triangle on boot. I think it may have missed something here

Step 3 - Updating CF-ROOT Kernel

Now you are on VillainRom you will need to update the kernel to match the rom. At the time of writing this is the KF2 kernel (but check in IRC or on the rom post if your not sure). This time you will want to keep this as a .zip file.

First of all, install VRTweaks from http://www.villainrom.co.uk/forum/sh...v1.3.1-(29-May), and install it.

Place the CF-ROOT .zip file onto your phone and then open the "CWM" app, once open go to "flash kernel" and point it to that .zip file.

The phone will reboot.

Now what KF2 Kernel is it talking about? Is this still correct for 2.3.4?

Also to get quidco to track, do I just click the link on quidco and then anything I do will automatically track if I navigate around the T mobile website or is there a special way?

900 mins, UL texts and data, £35 a month - free phone :)

You need to go through the Quidco site - if you've already browsed around the T-Mobile site, use a different browser or clear your cookies - mine tracked within an hour or so of ordering the phone :)
 
Hi guys, just unbranded and rooted my phone here (running standard XEU KF3) - and was wondering which are the recommended apps to freeze with titanium backup?

I've started with social hub as I don't use that at all and was wondering what else it is safe to freeze?
