LOL. I was tempted to go for an iPhone to go with my mac, just for the simplicity, but I fancied the challenge of getting an Android instead! So far it has cost me money in buying third party apps to sync iTunes to the phone and get an iPod/iPhone esque player on the phone as well

You sound like the poeple I work with....They buy an Imac and yet want win7 installed on it just to appear cool

grrrrrrrr something keeps going wrong with my maps/navigation, i was in the middle of nowhere yesterday on my vespa and needed to use navigation via the headphones to guide me to somewhere i needed to be. again i had force close on navigation, had to wipe the phone on the side of the road and then key in all the info, well basically set the phone up from new 
i did it the other week, i presume one of my apps is causing the issue

dont ask me what the 'K' means (Kies maybe?) but the second letter is the release month. ie kg1 and jap kg2 firmware this month, KF fireware was released in june, KE in May ect.

Hi all,
finally getting my SGS2 today. Is there a case/protector of choice that people are using? I don't mind something that it has to go into or increases the bulk as long as it has good protection.

Has anyone noticed worse battery life using the latest KF3 firmware over the older KE7?
I updated a couple days ago, seems android OS is using much more battery life than before. I've actually used my phone less than normal, but battery drain as increased.
On KE7 i was able to get around 2 full days and one night on average, now i'm looking at needing to charge almost every day. I'd say it probably using about 25-30% more battery than before.

Does not Sound good at all. I assume you just did a upgrade rather than a full wipe ?

Yeah it was just an update (and re rooting after), didn't bother doing a full wipe, but i think i might try that. I have cleared cache using an app off the market to see if that helped.
If a reset/wipe doesn't sort it out then i might try moving to a custom rom (which i've been considering doing for a while anyway).
Well i've had the phone for a while now, and i hate to say it, but.... i miss my iPhone. I want to like Android but for me the iPhone is easy-to-use and allows me to manage all my music, apps and videos on iTunes.

Ok guys, weird problem here. My WiFi works fine but when I pick up the phone after leaving it for say, 5mins+ doing nothing, I have to turn the wifi off and then back on again, for the phone to load up any kind of data.
I have checked and wifi sleep etc. is turned off and if I don't do the on/off the phone will timeout and not work at all. Has anyone else had this issue? It's driving me mad.

from what i've seen of the iphone, it's overall easier and less hands on... but.... android is more capable but requires more user input. i prefer android though

iTunes is great (on the Mac, on windows, not so much).Anyway....Finally managed to install Kies on a PC and it says the KF3 update is available, but I get an error message (after it backs up my settings) that "Cannot access the model information server. Try later"
Apart from trying again later, all i can do is wait for the OTA update or use Odin.

Yes, but imo it's a crap bit of software - when i imported my music, none of the tracks had names, artists, albums etc..
Still, i prefer the simplicity of the iPhone.
Can anyone confirm if their volume buttons are working when the FM radio is playing and the screen is off. I'm having to unlock the phone first for them to work. Works fine when music plays, the problem only occurs with the FM radio.
