Damn my hesitation!!

You're kidding me, i could make a worse dent than that by gently kicking the bumper. The only reason there's any actual damage is because its creased. I had someone drive into my car when it was parked up, mine was written off with a £7k bill, he had a cracked numberplate and a chipped bumper.

I'm seriously raging for you right now, did you have any witnesses?

EDIT: And you might want to edit out the personal information :)

Why the hell is the husband writing anyway? He wasn't even in the car.

Typical go home, speak to the other half and change your mind scenario.

..you fell for the 'I'm at fault' polite innocent women driver. Why didn't you just go though your car insurance straight away?. That's why you pay insurance.

Absolutely. Harsh lesson learned, I was just trying to be nice and understanding, particularly as it was a woman on her own with 2 young teenage daughters.

I've spoken to my insurance, turns out she has the same insurer - Admiral..

I would refute his claim, tell him a former 911 driver would confirm he could see this easily being caused by a 911 impacting a light bumper on the rear of your Seat, I'm sure Gibbo, Mark and others who have/had them would be of a similar view. It is a stupid claim that it could not have been caused because there is no damage on the 911 or because his numberplate is intact. The realty is if the paint hand't flaked when you pulled the dent out there would be no mark on the bumper of yours either.

Trouble is without proof it's difficult to win, though I would suggest if she confirmed this at the scene you should write back and remind him of the fact and tell him it is being passed to the legal team of your insurer who will take it from there.....assuming thats the route you took.

Believe me guys I'm bloody fuming. The daftest thing is that if she didn't hit me and 'didn't' cause the damage what was she doing stopping to give me her contact details ?!

Its a plastic bumper FFS, easily damaged by a light impact and it isn't difficult to believe the other car would get off very lightly.

Say exactly that in your reply - if she was so confident she didn't do it, why did she get out the car and exchange details with you and agree to pay?

I don't tend to just get out of my car at roundabout to offer to pay for peoples damaged cars :p

If you had persued this with the insurers from the beginning and the other person has no damage to their vehicle, how do they determine who's at fault?

The fact that you got their insurance details?

and photos of the scene of accident I think is also important.
