John Henry - One missing link last year: Acquilani. Put the ball near Ngog and the goal and it's going in. Too much talk of them somewhere else.

Hope that is good news about Aqua, would like to hear the same for Insua.
 
Aquilani again opening them up, Kuyt cross and Maxi header. 5-3 :)

Kuyt makes it 6-3 and no surprises who set it all up.

Insua played well. Phenomenal going forward (compared to not having any left back at all at least) and deffo has something to offer.
Suspect at the back? maybe .. so's Johnson at times. Notice how much better Johnson looked with a stable defence playing with confidence (under Kenny) compared to under Rafa's last year and Roy?.. who's to say Insua couldn't do the same, and he's still bloody young!

Aquilani looked great today. His technique on the ball is sensational - I don't think he misplaced one pass and most of those were forwards.

Same here.
After Aquilani's performance in the last friendly, and he got slated by ex players in LFCtv for not being good enough, unlike the hard working Meireles...
I wonder what they will make after today.
It makes you wonder what drugs our ex players are on.

Aquilani MotM. Had a hand in all 5 goals in the second half and his range and weight of passing was incredible. **** up of the season sending him out on loan last year.

Thought Shelvey also played very well but with Gerrard, Lucas, Adams, Henderson and Meireles all competing for the same positions in the team it's hard to see where he'll get a game.

Cole and Poulsen both looked out of their depth and need to be sold ASAP :o

Would be nice to get Shelvey and Spearing out on loan to somewhere worthwhile ..
Wouldn't mind seeing Spearing in a lower PL side, Shelvey's style of play probably needs to be in a team playing good football (top of the championship for example) to get anything out of a loan.

I thought he was alright, passing was a little slow and he over hit a few longer balls, but was trying to drive the game forward.

Carroll looked awful, as did Joe Cole (bar a couple of good runs) and Meireles. I still think we need to buy another CB/LB before we will compete as we look weak back there.
 
And the inquisition begins on LFCtv..
He's not good enough in the tackle, pulls out of 50/50's too often.
He's not hungry enough.
Not battling enough unlike Adam.
Offers nothing defensively unlike Adam

And finally..
Cant see him being good enough to play in the PL. They reckon he would struggle to put passes together against Hull .. sigh
