****The Official Samsung Galaxy S II Thread***

can others check the bbc site and see if something has changed?

Are we talking iplayer here? BBC site works as normal for me, still on latest official, so 2.3.

Edit - as a side note, how freaking hard is it to reply to a post on this forum with the stock browser? It's almost unuseable

Probably being a complete dumb ass here but if anyone is still on the stock rom and using touchwiz, could you let me know how to change the 'fixed' shortcuts at the bottom? ie messages, phone, contracts.

I used to run a rom on my old hero that had launcher pro on it and was able to 'flick' the shortcuts left and right. Is that possible on touchwiz?

ta all

Guys, I have the tools I need now, ODIN and i9100XXKG1.zip to flash my phone to 2.3.4. What do I need to backup my SMS, emails, gmail, google and samsung accounts settings, general phone settings, etc, as I assume they'll get wiped? Apps I'm not too bothered, I'll make a list then redownload.

I'd like to know the answer to this question also :)

Use an app called SMS Backup. It works very well. For your contacts just invest some time to organise your Google contacts. It makes it very easy to change ROMS and you also always have a proper backup. No need to import or export, just sync with your Gmail account.

Seems that CM7 will be released very soon, chances are today!!

brilliant, very desperate to move away from current roms, all seem to keep the samsung chud and i spend ages freezing apps i just don't want..

keep us posted!

i try and follow XDA but i really dislike the layout and forum posts move so fast, hardly ever get an answer to a question i ask, much prefer this thread :)

Aye I will install it as soon as it's released and will post xda links here.

cheers bud, im too gonna install as soon as possible, i need to wipe my phone and not use titanium backup to restore, just a clean start. i have an issue with flash and i also have force close problems on navigation which i use a lot. somewhere along the lines something has gone wrong with my backups!

As long as you only restore APPS and not system data you should be fine - I used titanium backup when I moved from 2.3.3 to 2.3.4 but only restored APPS. Anything system I left, not had any FC messages.
