****The Official Samsung Galaxy S II Thread***

No phone will perform well in low light, it's just down to the size of the sensor.

The Galaxy S II is pretty much the best of a bad bunch when it comes to that. It's passable but not really anything great.

Also, I'm running KG2 now and the lock screen is SO much better! It doesn't judder when you slide it and seems to just work a lot better.

Thank god.

Anyone have any tips/guides for getting the most out of the phone's camera? I know one boardie has posted an awesome pic recently, but I can't find it :(

Just make sure you have optimal lighting and use the touch-to-focus.

Everything else can be left on default most of the time, you'll get good pictures with a bit of common sense.

Hint with macro mode:

Up close, pressing focus and it overshoots to out of focus with a red square?

Just tap your volume down rocker and it will magic in to almost perfect focus (you might to to back up a tad).

Yeah, it's OK. The Samsung ROM's are far more polished at the moment though as to be expected. I'm back on Lite'ning 3.0 for the meantime.

I use the built in password feature and after pressing ok it just fades away in an instant to reveal my homescreen. Quick, smooth and more secure.

You don't need to do that at all. Just lightly tap the regular camera button and let go, it then changes to yellow and shoots the picture for you.
