****The Official Samsung Galaxy S II Thread***

I just got my Galaxy S2 and am currently having issues with setting wallpapers. Despite stretching the orange crop box to cover the whole image, it quite happily stretches the image anyway (you can tell by the quality of the image) and I cannot seem to figure out how to resolve this?

And another question, is it possible to tell the phone not to rotate the wallpaper when rotating the phone so the image stays as if the phone were upright?

Ive updated to the latest firmware and its turned my text message scrren into yellow messages for recieved and blue message for sent. Is there anyway I can change this back to black? Totally forgot how to do it.

Another thing I've been wondering is I don't like how the incoming text messages get displayed in full in the notification bar. Is there a way to disable this?

Some of the ROM versions don't have themes for the messaging app I'm afraid. I too miss the black one. :( (I'm on KF2)

can you notice the difference between 720p and 1080p on a 4.3" screen?

Nope, none at all. My 720p copy of Avatar is a little over 8gb and plays back natively on the device fine, but streaming it gets a bit choppy. I decided to do a re-encode job of it down to 800x480 which took the file size down to 1.7gb and honestly there is not a lot of difference from the 720p file.

The end.

Email problem. I'm receiving emails to my phone for my ntlworld email address, in fact, they get to my phone before they are received on my pc which is normally a few moments later. But when I send emails, it says 'sending..' then disappears so I'd assume it's sent but none of my sent emails appear in my phone's sent folder, the folder is blank and always has been. Also, I sent a test email to myself, to my ntlworld account, same thing, nothing showing in sent folder, and but it hasn't arrived as email on my pc. What could be wrong?

Does the Proporta Aluminium Lined leather Pouch fit the Samsung Galaxy S2 with the official mesh vent case on?

I'm really surprised the official mesh vent case does not fit into the official samsung dock either

So anyone know why my emails are coming in but not being sent or appearing in sent and outbox folders? I'm on stock email client.

virgin never used to allow sending via their smtp server from anywhere outside the network. I'm going to assume that is still the case.

that's one such thread on the virgin website.

All i can really suggest is use your gmail account to send and either forward email from your ntlworld account or use the phone to receive the ntlworld email directly.

Thanks for the info, at least I know it's not the phone at fault. I guess I'll just use the phone to receive emails for now and send and reply to emails when at my PC. Some replies on that thread suggest getting the SMTP (outgoing mail) to my mobile providers mail server. So I need to find out what T-Mobile's smtp is?
