Hazro series - HZ30Wi, HZ30WiQ, HZ27WA, HZ27WB & HZ27WC

Set up my C non-glass last night and hugely impressed. It replaced a DGM 24" which I thought was good but this just seems to have a much better picture.

Checked the HDCP thing and it says not supported - what does this mean anyway?

Is it to keep HD output as HD - like if you watch a Bluray?

Haven't fiddle with settings yet. One thing that did worry me to save re-wiring I just plugged the Hazro into the DGM lead and it all went funny.

The lead is far too short and have to get another today.

HANG ON A MOMENT - how do change the settings? I press the menu button and nothing happens? Why no OSD? if I hold the menu or source button down for any length of time they just adjust the brightness.

Can't get the OSD up?

Also, the two bottom buttons don't feel like they actually have a button underneath - no click sound when pressed, just springy?

What gives?

EDIT - the C doesn't have an OSD?

No need for OSD style calibration, that method generally fails anyway. If you're looking for serious calibration bar brightness (contrast would have been kinda nice, though) then you can do it through graphics card LUT level.

Correct, it has been covered and discussed a fair bit. The reviews mention it. It's where they have saved money on the C version. As mentioned before it's not a big deal and there are ICC profiles available

Although they're really not needed, since the monitor is factory calibrated. Only way to do any better yourself is to self calibrate, really.

Got mine finally setup yesterday (HZ27WA non-glass) and I am well pleased. Not noticed any dead pixels and the picture quality and colours are jaw dropping.

Makes my old 2407FPW look woolly at its native res side by side,

Played an hour or so of World of Tanks on it too, no noticeable lag and still nice and slick on my rig with most of the settings up. No AA, but then it didn't seem necessary.

Hey Overslop, now after having the monitor for a few days, are you happy you paid the extra money for the A version? :)

Also, this HDCP issue, can it be fixed with a firmware update (I'm doubting it) or are people who bought them early on completely screwed? That'd be crap. :(

Hazro seem to be completely dodging the issue and not answering questions on it. Just assume that we're all completely screwed on that factor.

There's no USB port so that's not going to happen.
Could see it potentially being a problem down the line and I'm beginning to have second thoughts now......

In the mean time I do find it amusing how the WC is identified as a samsung syncmaster.

fffffffffu-

Well, receiving mine tomorrow. We'll see how it goes. :o

Yup guys my WC is a Samsung SyncMaster as well.

I've a screen shot of it in the other Hazro thread and some photos.

Also I got around the HDCP problem by downloading PassKey, which is a driver that removes the HDCP encryption.

I have to say Blu-Rays look stunning on the monitor, it's fantastic.

I always played a bit of Civ 5 on DX10/11 and my lord! It's so vivid and colourful compared to my old monitor.

I'm going to mostly be watching Blu-rays through my 42" C580 that's next to these monitors (awesome bedroom setup haha). In that regard I feel bigger sized display will be best for watching them, and since the 580 is a very good S-PVA I won't feel too bad about the HDCP, depending on current use of course.

Hopefully it comes in before I start my shift of work tomorrow so I can give a quick first impression.

I don't ever really plan on owning a telly. I don't really watch it either.

Only way I'll get one is if the other-half insists on it over and over haha.

I never watch TV either, it's just that the size makes it completely awesome for gaming and watching movies. :p

DPD tracking says it should be here in an hour or two. We'll see.

K, got the monitor. First impressions? I don't know. Stupid power brick won't turn 'on'. That's just great.

Also somehow managed to zap myself pulling out the plug. :p

Update: Okay, got the damn thing turned on. Problem 2: It refuses to display a picture at all. Get nothing but light blinking if it's plugged in when I turn the PC on, and it just display nothing but backlight if I plug it in while the PC is on.

GG, Hazro.

Going to have to send it back and try again later - after the August restock because that transformer sucks.
