What's wrong with officially supporting a coup? Worst case scenario is Libya ends up with another military dictatorship, so no different to old situation.

nothing apart from it was done under the guise of saving lives when in reality they are pro longing a civil war by a silly amount of time and if the rebels ever reach tripoli its going to be a slaughter , theres been loads of human rights watch groups saying some of the rebels are comiting some pretty awful acts such as rape and murder to people suspected of suporting gaddafi
