****The Official Samsung Galaxy S II Thread***

Just thought I'd share this image with you lot taken on my SGSII. No processing at all this is straight from the camera. I just got back from Newquay and forgot to take my camera, I was gutted and it wasn't until I got back I realised just how good this camera is.

ok i've found the battery usage page but not sure what to get from it.

my phone has been charging for past 2 hours from 20% and it's now at only 29% so osmething is up.

thinking about it just got my new zenis dock so maybe that's messing it up. just seems like nothing i can do will charge this thing, all today it's been less then 40% but never ran out.

the phone charges horrifically slow on usb, try it on the mains

I've just used odin to flash to KG2 and i can't get a GPS lock anymore.

This is terrible timing as i'm going on a road trip this evening. Anyone got any tips as to how to get the GPS working again?

I had the same prob - basically had downloaded the wrong kernal so flashed to a differed one (xx-oxa I think it was) and that worked perfectly.

I'd flashed to this:

XXKG2

Firmware info
PDA:XXKG2
PHONE: XXKG2

XXKG2 Stock Kernel: http://www.multiupload.com/0OOHFI08Y5

Downloaded the OXA Poland file and put that into Odin, I didn't touch the 'stock kernel' though, is this my mistake?

Diggin the white vibe, can expect even more whinging from fruity fellows. however for anyone like me looking for a pre owned sgs2 this do nicely as more black's will hit the market and the "new" white will push the pricing down a little more, think I prefer black though

Just got my replacement from tmobile all seems good. However when I spoke to them on the phone the guy told me he didn't think they'd send me a referb unit out and it'd be brand new.

One thing I noticed on the box it wasn't the official Samsung seal but instead it was the pink quality assurance t-mobile one. Does this just mean some one has checked it over before it's come out to me?

Cheers

I'm thinking about rooting and flashing a custom ROM, but I'm put off by the wiping of the phone each time there's an upgrade.

Is it as simple as performing a backup of everything and simply restoring that after I've put the new ROM on?

You'll only need to do a full wipe if you're changing to a different ROM, and even then its not always necessary. If you're upgrading to a newer version of your existing ROM, you won't need to restore your apps. Of course, always do a nand backup just to cover yourself.

Did it have the T-Mobile mobile recycling envelope in there - if so they would have had to break the seal to get it in the box?

Yeah it did have the T-mobile recycling envelope in, but the last replacement I had didn't have this. So it doesn't mean I recieved a referb, it's just something they do?

Cheers

Every mobile i've had from T-mobile has had the 'official' seal broken and replaced with a t-mobile one and a re-cycling env put in.

Ah cheers.

Well the last unit I had was just awful, even the camera didn't look like it had been put together right. It seemed out of place and was in the bottom left corner of it's shelling, pretty strange.

Oh well this one seems fine... Just installed Lite'ning ROM. :)
