Corsair H100 Review

The website says its supported on LGA2011 (my next upgrade) but the manual only mentions upto LGA1366 (which is what I currently use).

Is this an error on the website or will you/corsair be providing (free?) LGA2011 kits nearer the time/when launched ?

Only got it today - despite paying for saturday delivery - they carded me but didnt ring the bell - had to make a 20 mile round trip to collect from the depot.

Looks a good product - but the two major negatives have somewhat taken the shine off it. Unlike the TRUE Copper it will be replacing :D

Apparently LGA 2011 is backwards compatible with LGA 1336 cooling solutions. (coming from Wikipedia, so take with a pinch of salt as always)

has anyone here actually bought one yet? I'm tempted to get one but would like to know users opinions too (not that i doubt the staff ;) )

Got mine coming tomorrow so once it's set up I'll let you all know :D Won't be using the stock fans, got Apaches and Vipers coming too.

EDIT: Or not tomorrow as I missed the cut off time for DX Secure to redeliver tomorrow...

Thanks, out of interest why have you got both apaches and vipers coming :D

Gonna be truthfully honest with that question. It's because I ordered at 2:30am and yellow and black aparently look the same to me... haha. I'm going to send the Apaches back and use the 4 Vipers if I can devise a way to mount it in the HAF-X without having to loose the 2 200mm top fans.

ha love it, sounds like the thing i would do ;)

Well I've started the testing. I'm using a 2600K with an NH-D14 at the moment. I have no way of measuring my room temperature but I hope it won't be too big of a problem. I'll do 4 lots of testing with settings that I use. They will be as follows:

4.6GHz no hyper threading, all settings on auto
4.6GHz with hyper threading, voltages to follow
4.8GHz no hyper threading, voltages to follow
4.8GHz with hyper threading, voltages to follow

If you're lucky, I might attempt to get 5.0GHz again!

Sorry about being so vague on the settings but I'm still learning the art of OCing. If you guys have any input or hints and tip, please let me know I want to give the best possible review.

Thanks I didn't even think they would be compatible - there being too big a difference - unlike the S1155/S1156 changeover - but even corsair.com product website says its compatible now - just not the documentation that comes in the box.

Good to know for when Ivy Bridge comes out then.

Good luck Rossdh - I'm watching this thread with interest as I may go I5 soon and was thinking of treating myself to this cooler

I'm looking forward to se how it performs against the NH-D14. The results I post will be will be the NH-D14 with the stock Noctua fans and the H100 with 4 Akasa Vipers.

Well only got one more "test" to do with the Noctua NH-D14 then I'll get the H100 tomorrow. I'm actually getting fairly excited now!!!

Probably not, but it is a lot more tidy and better looking. As long as it keeps the temps at a reasonable level, it'll be staying in! :D

Yeah very true! More open space inside with the H100, more freedom with memory ram slots and graphic card slots not too close to the H100! The Noctua NH-D14 is well huge and not enough space inside! And good luck with your new H100 with 4 viper fans (let us know how it go!)
