Evo or Impreza?

Isn't that comfortably Evo 8 money?

Also, I'm not quite sure about being so against modifications. With a car like a Evo or Impreza it is a large part of the fun :).

i know but unless they have the receipts or proof of modifications done i'd rather it be stock. I'd love a nicely modified one but wouldn't fancy one thats pushing 400bhp and the person bought it like that and has no idea whats in it...

Basic physics... any intercooler will increase lag. TMIC is better than FMIC... noticeably.

But even TMIC in combination with a turbo can be annoying if you're not used to it / prepared for it.

It might be inconsequential to the op, doesn't mean it doesn't exist ;)

Let me make sure I'm reading this correct.
You're saying a top mount intercooler is better than a front mount intercooler?

Are you insane?

Top mount intercoolers just suck up all the heat from the engine!!

Unless I'm missing something, all he said was that FMICs have a lot more lag on Imprezas than TMICs. Which is true.

I don't know why people have these hang ups about the AYC/ACD. It's hardly intrusive and when tested it was faster than an RS Diff equipped equivalent.

Nothing wrong with them, until they go wrong, then they cost quite a bit!

@ OP - £9k is Evo 8 money or a very nice 7.

Evo vs Subaru is always a contentious issue. Both are well made and both have their issues. Evo's are generally more nimble and typically more powerful out of the box. Imprezas have better built interiors and feel generally more solid.

Only downside on the Evo was the paintwork wasn't the thickest in the world so that's my only word of caution.
