Corsair H100 Review

I'd like to see an i7 950 prime benched with the H100, all good and well benching with a cooler CPU but what's the results with a CPU that runs hot (i7-950)

My room temp is currently sat at 27.5c & coretemp is reading @ 51/50/48/47 using an H70 with x2 vipers in push/pull on full wack CPU @4Ghz/1.264 volts.

We could do with some tests with decent fans and decent paste and a little list of cases this would fit unless corsair already have a list.

not bad Idea

I not long brought a Cooler Master CM-690 II. i got this H100 yesterday to go into the case.
But as i got a Asus Rampage III Extrem, this water cooler kit wont fit grrrrrrrrrrr.
Can't believe it :( now im buggerd.. have to sell the case now and get something else!

Hey there,

got my H100 yesterday. I managed to mount it in my Define R3 but it was a pain in the ass. :D Unfortunately 2 of the fan headers seem to be broken. The third and forth fans are on full speed for the first 5 seconds while booting, as are the other two fans, and then stop until I set the Corsair to the middle or highest level and tap the fans manually. *sigh*

Any suggestions? I tried both the stockfans and the apaches btw.

Edit: Okay now it's completely ****ed up. After switching the fans a couple of times I ended up with the left headers still not working properly and the right headers forcing the fans to go max speed. I'll get a new one next week...

Is your motherboard the issue or the case? I ask because I'm looking to get that cooler and possibly that case! thanks.

Why doesn't it fit?

EDIT: Just looked at the size of the radiator on the H100 and it's generally slightly smaller than an XSPC RS240 radiator, which myself and quite a few others have fitted in the top of the CoolerMaster 690 II, so the H100 should fit.

ah man unlucky :(

Gonna be truthfully honest with that question. It's because I ordered at 2:30am and yellow and black aparently look the same to me... haha. I'm going to send the Apaches back and use the 4 Vipers if I can devise a way to mount it in the HAF-X without having to loose the 2 200mm top fans.

Let me know if you manage this as i have the same case

It's the board mate!!

If you got the Asus Rampage III it won't fit!! as the fans hit one the the heatsinks. unless u really bodge the case to fit.

Oh, are you trying to fit 4 fans in a push/pull config? In that case, yeah you need a better case (or at least bigger).

If you're only using 2 fans then the idea with the CM 690 II is that the rad goes in the top of the case and the fans go in a pull config on top of the rad but outside of the metal case frame under plastic top with the mesh grill on it. I think it mention/explains/shows this in the 690 II manual.

I've not used the Asus Rampage III though, so there may be somethign else stopping this working too.
