BTW woody was immense last night playing Split in Europa League. We own 1-0 against Hajduk Split:D through to the next round !

That was woodgates first 90 minutes in 18 months

i read about this earlier (late winner but they all count) and couldn't believe woodgate put in 90 minutes. was it a slightly slower pace than the prem? i assume they mean split as in croatia (i ask because fulham played a team from split last night too, didn't realise there were 2 teams from the area) i've been to split this time of year in fact this time 5 yrs ago, i was there. it gets ridiculously hot, props to woodgate for getting his fitness back, maybe we were approaching things in the wrong way?

Thanks to the spurs fans who replied, Palacios Seems ideal for us.

When Woodgate actually plays he will pobably look like the buy of the season. The question mark is how many times he plays!

Reports of him asking to be left out of the Udinese game so he's not cup-tied for Barca. First, I don't believe this for a second, just the media making 2+2=5. However, if it does turn out to be true I hope Wenger says "Sorry, Barca had their chance this year and blew it" and plays him.

Yeah if he plays then the price goes down by £10m and then there is no way Arsene will sell him. :D

Still hoping that Man City make a big offer for Nasri. He obviously doesn't want to wear the shirt any more so should be shipped out if we get a good offer. I do disagree with people saying about him performing badly last year though. Not the finished product but enough promise to want him to stay if he was happy.

Wenger said there might be some activity next week on the official site so we might have something to smile about.Hopefully .

I hope we dont bid for Nasri.

Has never really impressed me and he will only limit the chances the youngsters get and we have a few coming through that are looking awesome.

Pick him up on a free next year if anything....

Barca wont move on Cesc. Why would they?

City will bid £19m for Nasri and you will accept it.

Neither team will be happy with the deal.

I honestly believe that its time that Fabregas was sold and that Arsenal move on, fair play on him for not making a huge fuss last season but his heart is at the Nou Camp.

I'm happy for him to go, or stay, as an Arsenal fan I'd love him to stay, he improves the team and if Wenger has a second stroke that puts him back to normal, or we get a new manager, he'd be key in a REAL title run.

As a Cesc fan, I'm happy for him to go to a club without a retard in charge and win things.

He's given us plenty of years when he wanted to leave and he's consistantly our best player and massively covers for lack of quality elsewhere.

As for Nasri, I won't be happy if he stays, simple as that, unlike Cesc he simply doesn't have the quality to back up his foul attitude, lack of effort, and generally being a ****. Cesc is insanely better than Nasri, yet doesn't kick up a fuss, puts in never ending running, defensively and offensively and wins games for us, yet isn't begging for more money all the time.

err to start, is that not what i said, ''my opinion''?

secondly, has he ever quoted he would like to play for chelsea before the start of 2011? please show me where if so

I meant it as, the whole time you've thought he's your best player and intergral to the team he was thinking what he's now said, your opinion of how he can play in the team has changed but his hasn't, he wouldn't play any differently tomorrow, as a year ago when he thought the same things and you just didn't know it.

THe problem is, and the point I'm making is, your opinion doesn't change how he'll play, so not wanting him to play, even though you thought he was good enough before, is madness.

99% of players want to play for a better club, it doesn't stop them playing well, he clearly had it on his mind when he made a deal to sign a contract extension but with the understanding he could leave. Its better for Spurs to sell him with a longer contract, hence making such a deal, Modric didn't want to screw Spurs as they helped his career. But he clearly was thinking about leaving back then, as he is now, the only difference is you're aware of it. I can't see how you'd want a player to leave just because you are now aware he feels that way, when you didn't want him to leave when you weren't aware what he wanted, its completely illogical.

He's either good enough, or he's not, its like crazy fans who would turn on a fan if he "came out", he would have always been gay, nothing would have changed in his ability or motivation, just the fans awareness of it.

yes Split in Croatia ( we played the betetr team Hajduk Split :D) It was MEGA hot and they attacked us quite a lot he delt with everything. We shifted Huth to RB so if Woody isnt fit we simply put Hutch back as a CB

Barca make an offer that Arsenal feel is fair, he will be gone, Arsene knows this, the fans know this, and so does Fabregas.

And don't give me none of this "He isn't worth £40mil" rubbish. In a world that Henderson is worth £20mil, Fabregas is worth upwards of £2billion.

But Cesc also knows aswell as Arsene does, that they can't just let him go cheaper than he is worth (to Arsenal). Barca make an offer that Arsenal feel is fair, he will be gone, Arsene knows this, the fans know this, and so does Fabregas.

What about in a world where Henderson is worth £16m? :p

And Tim Payton from the Arsenal Supporters Trust made a good point on the radio earlier today. If Fabregas wanted to, he could put in an official transfer request which would write-off his £4m 'loyalty' bonus and may make negotiations easier for both Arsenal and Barca.

edit: I've previously said that I couldn't see too much of an issue with Arsenal keeping Fabregas against his wishes but I think I might be wrong on that. I'm not buying the talk of this injury and even Wenger's questioned his commitment. Fabregas is an excellent player but I can't help but think it would be best for everybody if a compromise was reached and he left now.

Yes I wouldn't blame him for moving on but for £25m odd. The club isn't running a charity. It is not an option to let our best player leave for that price especially as he is under contract.

I think he could still stay another year.

Then Fabregas is worth about £1.6billion :p

My bad, I normally go and look those figures up before stating them, but really didn't feel like it after a long shift at work today. :p

Aye that's what's so annoying about Barca. Madrid tried to get Ronaldo, failed, presumably made an agreement and waited a year then paid what he was worth. World class player, world class fee. With Fabregas, Barca have chipped away at the club and player in order to make everything so uncomfortable that they think they'll be able to get him for half of what he costs. This is a guy who has the highest average goalscoring chance creation rate in Europe, one of the best players in the Prem. The sad thing is it's both working and messing up our pre-season. That they'd like but don't really need Fabregas at the moment just makes it even more ridiculous.

Barca are doing what i do on FM all the time :D, it always works for me so why not Pep :p

From what I've seen, it seems to be everyone but Pep (for the most part) he seems to have been the most distant from it all.

Probably realises his club are being a bunch of *****.

How much are you suggesting Fabregas should go for?

Real paid Utd a huge fee for a number of reasons; firstly they're Real and are more than happy to pay crazy fees, Ronaldo was 1 of the 2 best players in the world and he'd massively improve Real as a side. Ronaldo was worth £80m to Real.

Ibrahimovic aside Barca tend not to pay big fees on players, while Fabregas is an excellent player he's not 1 of the top few players in the world nor would he massively improve Barca. Fabregas isn't worth a huge fee to Barca.

You can knock Barca as much as you like for the comments in the press but it's all meaningless. The only thing that matters and the only reason why there is any speculation is because Fabregas wants to leave.

If they value him so lowly then move along after the bid it rejected. Barca made the mistake of not valuing him enough when he was with them and they are telling everyone that he isn't worth more than £27m.

Arsenal however value him at more than £50m but are willing to let him go to his home club for a knockdown £40m. If they don't value him as highly as Arsenal do then go and find someone better.
