Turn Baldurs Gate and its sequel into the single best CRPG experience you'll likely ever encounter

Hmm, not sure where I went wrong then. Never had it do that the previous times I've installed it.

I'm away to try re-installing it to C:\Program Files\Black Isle\Baldur's Gate as that was the default path it was asking for and not letting me change it to D:\BG\Baldur's Gate which always worked in the past.

Hmm, well that worked in the default folders, but the mod batch file then spazzed out over music files in the ToB addon, but it otherwise seems to be working.

I have it working fine, but i'm considering reinstalling it tbh. I did the minimal install, but i think i should have added a few more mods. I might just install them manually, not sure yet

Careful when adding other mods as most are German and can cause script errors in an english version. Such as you going into an inn seeing an important character then he talks german then it crashes ;)

Thinking about installing this again, went through vanilla bg1 +tsc and bg2 + tob as evil char and party. Loved it, remember rolling for ages in char creation to get around 90 points to spend so could max str, dex and con to 18.

Game is tough when u start out in bg 1 but the ring of wiZardry hidden in tree in friendly arm inn area and the ankeg armour hidden in nashkal farm field made things easier.

I found draconis/his son a very tough fight in tob and the demigorgan. Last fight was hard but the pantaloon Armour helped me through it.

Ok, noted.

It's probably better to just reinstall this then, with the included mods ticked i would think

Typical, why can't i just leave things alone?

I decided to reinstall everything with a few more mods selected, and i'm having troubles with this installation:(

Should have just left it!

The problem was apparantly the name of the folder for BGII. It hs to be changed if you have the GOG version, or at least i had to change it.

Very nice playing it in widescreen

I certainly will;)

I just checked the screenshots you posted of the menus on the first page of this thread and it is exactly the same, so it's all done properly.

I went out tonight and left it all installing the recommended version and it was done when i got back.

It does seems like a small amount of effort for the final result, thanks for the thread and advice Neil.

If anyone is put off by the apparrant comlexity of the installation, all i can say is don't be. It is pretty straighforward, and there are guides you can follow aswell
