Youth clubs do make a massive difference as it was quite simply something to do and look forward to instead of roaming the streets and generally being idiots. I state that as a fact.

Get these kids involved with something positive and give them guidance. But you've got to make the effort. After growing up surrounded by a generation or two of 'failure' it is incredibly hard for these kids to want to work towards a better life on their lonesome, especially when the call of violence, drugs and alcohol abuse is so strong.

Jumpers for goal posts, I played football with my mates every day until we were to tired to run anymore. Fairly sure the price of a football is achievable between a bunch of the poorest blacks in tottenham.

Of course one of the riot police struck one of the original protesters when they were out numbered 20-1. Not to mention the family friend of the original protesters saying on Sky there was no trouble from any of the original protesters.

If there was a media blackout there wouldn't be journalists from the Guardian etc on site tweeting regularly with updated news.

Only one of the 3 you suggested holds true that I can see.

Sad to see people looting but good on them for actually standing up and saying they have had enough. The countrie is going back to the 80s again and expect to see more and more riots.

Everyone seems to assume its the lower class that are doing the rioting. The government is killing the working class,students and public services with all the cuts atm.
I understand that the countries needs to raise funds but why make the working class and lower pay for it get the money back that they gave the banks and stop the pointless wars.

I actually quit my job as a police officer 2 weeks ago. Because of all the cuts I was told and many others that we would have to take pay cuts to keep our jobs. I just hope more people take to the streets (without the crime).

These rioters would be doing exactly the same if the economy was in perfect condition. The fact is that these people have no morals, no work ethic, will always blame the country for their own laziness and will always find it easier to loot shops and sell drugs instead of making an effort in life.

Schemes and estates can be tedious for children.
 
The police have stopped a HUGE number of places just outside Enfield getting set on fire so far, including one place that would have been an extremely bad fire I imagine!

That's where the problem lies.. far too much pampering and not enough respect given to law enforcement servants.

In situations like these, the police need to be more firm in their grip and have zero tolerance. Those 'yoofs' should not be in the area nor in large groups.
 
Like all things people will find "reasons" to go looting and in most case it has nothing to do with what they say they are doing it for.

OK some dude gets killed.... I know Ill teach the police by breaking into shops and stealing crap.. that will learn them............... OF COURSE

No but it's an example, sure there are plenty of other sports/games I could rattle a list for that cost next to nothing.

Roaming the streets causing trouble with the boredom excuse, doesn't stick with me.

Yup, and they should be locked up in one of those jails from the 'world's toughest prisons' TV series. the ones where 40 men share a room probably no larger than your lounge.

Considering the IPCC, or IPPC, or CIIPCICICPP, whatever they have called have said its their job to keep them up to date, they spoke with the family on friday, and on Saturday the mother said she wasn't ready to talk, which they were fine with, I can't see any reason for them to then go together to stand outside a police station to ask for information, when they'd refused to receive it at that time already.

The independant investigational nature of shootings involving the police should be more apparent to the public, largely to avoid the use of a heavily intensified investigation seeming "abnormal" to the public in any way.

If they talk about the investigation before its finished, they risk giving out info a "witness" can then change to fit in, or whatever else.

But the fact that the investigation needs to be kept quiet, with few comments, and it can take a few weeks, and that ALL police involved shootings have done, not just "dodgey" ones as people seem to think needs to be common knowledge.

But its being used as an excuse here.

Because others have pointed out some good reasons why it's not wise to post detailed info I'm getting from a copper out there tonight.

I'm guessing they don't want what they are doing plastered all over the media live, considering they are stopping some pretty bad stuff at the mo, in a LOT of different areas all over the place.
