Nope, easier than that. Just turn the phone off, plug in the jig, turn phone on, wait till it boots to recovery. Turn off phone, remove jig, job done.

is there any way to make this phone stop giving up looking for reception so quickly o make it look again more frequently? i've always had this issue with android and it's only ever happened since moving to andoird phones. the phone just seems to be so crap at looking for reception. right now it says emergency calls only because its trying for tmobile, even though orange reception would be fine. however if i make a call it'll say no mobile network ,then start looking again and probably get 1 bar with tmobile or then go over to orange, so from that i take it it's completely given up searching. an way i can change this as it's probably the worst thing about android the terrible way it deals with reception when it's low

I had this problem after upgrading lit'ing rom a couple of pages back. You have to change the router encryption to AES.

AES?? Don't have that option on my (Netgear DG834GT) router...just wep,wpa-psk or wpa2 in various guises, but no mention of AES!

anyone know??

the reason im asking, is because i used my phone in the car with the car charger and copilot running but after about 20-30 minutes the phone got hot!! top and bottom, i guess due to the cpu being used and battery charging... is it safe to use copilot while charging?

Not sure about the SG2 but I run co pilot on my Desire all day everyday hooked up to the car lighter so I cant really see the SG2 being any different and my Desire is now 20 months old

Right guys
I have just got my wife the SG2 and she really loves it - but having started to get used to it in the settings to check for updates
when trying to update - it asks if she is registered to Samsung account (she is not) and wont let her carry on with any updating etc

so try to sign uip to samsung and it just hangs and wont move to the next step
it does this every time and there appears to be no other way of updating with out signing to the samsung whatever it is
the phone is Orange branded and works flawlessly apart from this updating scenario
so would appreciate some help here please
Chris

So with litening ROM the artifacts are normal when you press the lock screen and get a white flash? It has been fine for me till I plugged the phone into the PC but then the artifacts appeared in the lock screen flash.

Does anyone know what actually causes it and is their a fix?

Cheers

My %$#@$ SGS2 sent 252MB of data yesterday
Turns out I sent a 8MB E-mail at home with Wifi but it got refused by the receiving party without informing me, as a result the E-mail remained in my outbox and as I was away the whole day the phone must have been trying to keep sending the E-mail resulting in 252MB of sent data, total data use yesterday was 303MB as I also used Google maps GPS for 150 minutes, nearly a third of my monthly quota of 1GB in one day :(

Why did it keep trying to send the mail and not notify me that it could not deliver the mail?

was that exchange or gmail or something else?

My own ISP E-mail, I still don't know why the e-mail could not be sent, the mailbox is 250MB total and the size limit per mail is 10MB I think.

It just stayed put in the outbox and was sent 30 times without success.

That seems pretty weird, if the receiving end is rejecting the message that should mean that your email was accepted by your ISP's MTA and should have left the outbox. The receiving end's MTA should then have sent you back a rejection message.

Got an iPhone 4 for work and one for person, was going to flog the person one and get one of these handsets to have a play with, is whatsapp available for android? Also what's the battery life like with wifi on all the time? Good camera I read?

Whatsapp is available, battery life with Wifi is bad (at least in my perception as it keeps scanning for networks which drains the battery)

On my old iPhone 3G Wifi was great as it menat much longer battery life but with my SGS2 I keep turning off Wifi as I stop using it, it also wont reconnect to my Wifi network when waking up.

Edit: ^ Screw you sir!

Whatsapp is available. Battery life is good (though not as good as the iPhone 4) and the camera is superb.

Battery Life is no different to any other smartphone. Same as iPhone 4 if used the same really. Which makes it better than the iPhone because the iPhone is less demanding and with a smaller screen although what kind of mAh battery it uses is unknown.

Still, camera/screen/speed/ROMs etc are all the plus points for this.

AND, 16GB internal and up to 32GB external storage.
