whats the best place to get this on contract with a 2gb+ internet package?

i can get it £30 a month from three with unlimited internet but dont wanna spend over £25 really.

There used to be an option to disable scanning for networks ,at least there was on my G1 and X10, have they removed that?

Probably under wireless settings>menu button>advanced wireless settings if my memory serves me right , not got an android phone to hand atm. Theres also an option under that to set the wi-fi sleep policy you may want to have a play with if you think it's draining the battery too fast.
 
so, totally new to this mucking about with the phone stuff but I have recently rooted my SGS2 phone to get the GPS working, I am now looking to get a custom rom on this badboy as I am becoming a bit peeved with the battery life and read some roms can significantly improve the battery life.

It also looks like i need an sd card, I do not need 1 for storage so a 4 or 8 gig will do but wondered if I should get a higher class card or will any old card do?

What is the main ROM people are running?

GingerVillain was miles better than the other ROMs on my desire so I'm tempted to go for Villain on the SGSII.
 
I have a wierd problem and could do with some help

I flashed to a new rom and am trying to install my Apps on to the new rom but the Android Market Place thinks that I already have some of the apps already installed and will not let me install them again.

Any ideas?
 
If you left on the auto restore feature then apps will auto restore over the air and depending on size could take a while to restore back off the "Cloud".

Yeah this used to happen but not any more is there any way to turn the auto restore feature back on?

I really like stock Android, and I would rather have the better performance, battery and root features than a myface hub or other useless gubbins that Sense/Touchwiz add.
 
Hardly used my phone this last week since the schools I work at are on summer holidays. Gave me a chance to see how this phone is on idle plus a few phone calls. :p

Just got my SGll on Orange want to root and dispose of the Orange bloatware.

Can I just root via the XDA root thread, being Orange branded poses no problems ?

If I root/flash via all in one litening rom, will it automatically back up my stock config.?
 
Has any one found a rom that wipes the whole phone and installs just android no touch wiz or preloaded cr@p, if so, is it good and is there a how to? I went to lightning 5.0 which I like but feel there maybe better battery gain with a more stripped down rom?

All roms are samsung based at the moment. Cynogen mod should be stable soon (i cant wait :D)
