But the police and the army are entirely different.

Troops will not be deployed.

so well just have the police standing looking on, like a bunch of useless goons, If only people were speeding then maybe the police force would be useful.

At least the army would actually do something, either by going in or rubber batons, cs gas and water cannons.

If they'd gone in hard on the Saturday this wouldn't happen, these people are animals, only force is recongised and the police force are showing that their impotent.

True. I class Cumbernauld Road the boundary as well, I'm in 'safe' east-end by 1 street though ;). I live beside The Duke.

Ah right, I know where you are... Just West enough of Cumbernauld Road and North enough of Duke Street to be a decent area :)

Definitely the fault of the coalition government of the last 12 months. All of these were fine upstanding young citizens before being disenfranchised by the unholy alliance.

:D

You mean the army who have less experience and training than the the police????

Lol, you guys are getting so mad. I would wager that the majority are Tory voters too. The bleeding irony..

I sympathies with the rioters. I see great tension in society, a lost and hopeless youth, people losing houses and businesses left and right; huge sweeping cuts resulting in all sorts of hardship, and I can at least understand why this type of thing is not only happening, but will become more and more prevalent over the coming years.
To think otherwise is imo very naive.

I hope you're just fishing with that frankly stupid post.

Get real.

No one has control. Government needs to act, he needs to come back from holiday and command government and committees and co-ordinate a response.

No control? The reason this has got out of hand is because the police are damned to hell by the media every time they show a display of strength. The police can't win against that, hence they are holding back, and so things look/are worse than they otherwise would be.

Give me a break. What a completely ridiculous thing to say.

Lets be honest Labour are more to blame than this for creating a society where the Police are too scared to touch the criminals incase they lose their jobs and the 13 years of ignoring the underground criminal gang warfare because it might be 'racism'.
