Probably...but I think helicopters need re-fuelling and so don't last long in the air...also they could possibly fan the flames of any large fires from downdrafts (although most shots are with camera zoom so far away...)

Don't get me wrong, I think the PSNI would be a great asset to bring in. I even called for them to be brought in earlier in this thread.
However, these things do take time and we can't expect them to just turn up straight away.

And, there are marches in August. At least there are some pretty big ones in Glasgow, I imagine they'd be even bigger over there. But nonetheless, drafting in police from a force quite far away isn't a great idea when there are easier options (namely the military).

Yea its not going to happen, they wont be sending anyone from PSNI.
A lot of NI tactics in street involve the larger armoured Landrovers we have to break riot lines. Also the police riot gear is a MUCH better armour and MUCH larger full height shield. Plus NI tacts are plastic bullets, then water cannon or Plastic Bullets till the water cannons turn up.

Im still absolutely amazed by reports saying the their isnt a single riot water cannon vehical on the Mainland.

Ive said it before and ill say it again, the MET/ England dont blieve theirs ANY police tactics to me learnt from NI dealing, the MET believe they are that good they didnt need advice..till now.
