It's not about education Damian, it's not about fearful liberals - they are but symptoms. Underpinning everything is the Welfare State. When you remove responsibility, hazard, the need to get your backside out of bed, when you remove the ever present threat of the abyss, when you tell people that they deserve everything they want, with no work involved, when you remove fathers, then what you reap is the whirlwind.

This is just the start. If these lost generations are not turned around, the problem will be tenfold a decade from now.

And here's the bad news - these failed people, these millions of failed people, cannot be turned around.

Good point well made, but no politician would dare be so outspoken. These days the right answers/solutions are ignored in favour of political correctness and political one-upmanship as Red Ken has shown tonight.
 
Breaking into peoples houses. It's one thing looting shops, but breaking into peoples houses is terrible, bring the Army in.

Please get a clue, they don't WANT to make cutbacks, they HAVE to, and Labour would be aswell. Look at America, and the uk, 3.4% off the Ftse100 here, 7% basically off the Nasdaq in the states, thats what happens when no one trusts your economy, something close to 200billion has been wiped off the uk economy since tuesday/wednesday.

If we had no debt, we could afford a lot higher spending than you can if you are effectively 3-4trillion in debt. IF Labour hadn't gotten us into completely unmanageable debts, there wouldn't need to be cuts.

Don't need much of an excuse do they? Mind you, it is about 25 years since the last chip on shoulder offended Broadwater riots/lootings and maybe they are in need of new TVs by now.
Maybe this is all the Governments fault for not supplying everyone in council accomodation with new electrical equipment every 5 years? They might as well because it is us law abiding citizens who are going to pay the price anyway...

bring in police from other parts of england, bring in army. theres plenty of options, we just need a govt/pm whose got the balls to do it.
