Girlfriend lives in Isle of Dogs, big fire going on between Crossharbour & Mudchute DLR stations...I'm hoping the 24 hour Asda there doesn't get looted.

i just moved out of london but talking to my friend who lives at my old place off spindrift ave, mudchute. looks like its ok at the moment but to be honest, go there any saturday and there are scenes resembleing a riot

Please get a clue, they don't WANT to make cutbacks, they HAVE to, and Labour would be aswell. Look at America, and the uk, 3.4% off the Ftse100 here, 7% basically off the Nasdaq in the states, thats what happens when no one trusts your economy, something close to 200billion has been wiped off the uk economy since tuesday/wednesday.

If we had no debt, we could afford a lot higher spending than you can if you are effectively 3-4trillion in debt. IF Labour hadn't gotten us into completely unmanageable debts, there wouldn't need to be cuts.

Yep, this is the second time in 30 years that the Tories have been left the job of sorting out the financial CATASTROPHE left behind by socialist overspending.
I reall wish some people would see cold hard facts for what they are, a Labour government has a limited shelflife before they nearly bankrupt the country and a Tory government comes in and cuts the waste and has to be unpopular for correcting Labour's mistakes.
SHEESH!
Make no mistake, the credit crunch only exacerbated a problem that had been created already. Most of the massive public deficit was created in the decade BEFORE the credit crunch.
Labour have nearly bankrupted this country BOTH times they have been in power in the last 30 years. Yes that's %100 of the time they have been in power in the last 30 or so years. Coincidence?
Anyway, don't blame these riots/looting sprees on the last Government, certainly not this Government. This is nothing to do with politics, so your (not you DM) comments like "Is Cameron back from holiday yet" just show you to be ignorant and biased.
These riots are something that were always going to happen as certain people just needed an excuse, any excuse, to go and have some fun smashing and stealing and bragging about it to their "homeys" the next day.
It's just fun to them and I really wish we didn't have the self imposed ghetos that breed these scumbags.
It's a shame Enoch Powell was such an obviously horrid, nasty racist really, or I'd publicly be able to say he had some good points without being demonised...

So sad :(:(

Yeah.

"Rioting is wrong! Blow people up instead!"

u prat, u know full well only the nutters do that but yeah you carry on son living in your dream world with your ******** ideals which are more like bending over to appease everyone.

All these politicians and met chiefs saying this is 'highly inexcusable'. No ****!

What are they doing to stop this? BBC saying police just standing around helpless watching buildings burn and shops being looted. It's ridiculous!

I used to live in Taeping Street, small world.
