The two idiot Girls drinking Rose wine, they're attacking the rich people. No they're not, they're basically attacking anyone who tries to make something of their lives by trying to make a living for themselves.

Rofl that was funny, they didn't even know 100% which political party was in power; " conzervateevs or summet ennit!"

"Yes," said the young man. "You wouldn't be talking to me now if we didn't riot, would you?"

The TV reporter from Britain's ITV had no response. So the young man pressed his advantage. "Two months ago we marched to Scotland Yard, more than 2,000 of us, all blacks, and it was peaceful and calm and you know what? Not a word in the press. Last night a bit of rioting and looting and look around you."

Well, he has a point :p

Eating my lunch at work in Greenwich and security start coming round telling us to evacuate and go home for our own safety... thankfully managed to get back without too much trouble, shops are all closing up round here, people rushing to buy petrol and food, few shop owners outside with baseball bats etc

really just wish this would stop...

It's only a matter of time before the general public get so fed up, that they go and clash with the rioters too.

I'm waiting for an all out war to start between rioters and the public, leaving the police not knowing wtf to do.

news report earlier was that there is total 140000 coppers total.

16000 tonight and i believe they said they might be able to get 32000 for london

May have been mentioned earlier in thread, but according to the girlfriend they're shutting up shop at Borough High Street due to looting.

Poor girl has a work event tonight, meaning that she's now got to go back through Clapham to Tooting, and then back through Clapham into the City later!

"There is nothing more dangerous than to build a society, with a large segment of people in that society, who feel that they have no stake in it; who feel that they have nothing to lose. People who have a stake in their society, protect that society, but when they don't have it, they unconsciously want to destroy it."

- Martin Luther King Jr.

What a shock, even with all the extra police there will be many areas of London (and other cities ) which will unfortunately be unguarded. Quote Sky / Quote the Met.

Which means .. its still going to kick off.

Yeh, cos the government has been segregating blacks. They've been segregating themselves for years. People in their communities get the same equal opportunities as the rest of us, and lots get even more through benefits.

Of course it was going to kick off, there's no doubt it wasn't. It'll likely be a lot more violent than the previous nights as well.

just had a panicky phone call from the mrs, Warrington is on edge.

armed hooligans have been seen making their way across the bridges into town and shop owners are being advised to get their shutters down.

may have to leave work to get her home

so angry at all of this

From the LA riots in 1992:

Fourth day (Saturday, May 2)
On the fourth day, 4,000 soldiers and Marines arrived from Fort Ord and Camp Pendleton to disperse the crowds and restore order. Soon after the military arrived, order was restored.

It isn't surprising at all.

Have microscopes from the likes of Liberty shoved up and breed an air where police are far more fearful of litigation than they are of bricks and missiles.

Take away that cloud over them and let them get on with it and the Met and other forces can do the job.

You reap what you sow.

Mate, I didn't see any shrinking violets in the Met when Ian Tomlinson was being shoved to the ground and cops were literally kicking peaceful climate change demonstrators with their hands in the air. And how about the Lozells riots? No shortage of police fisticuffs there, either (albeit entirely justified, IMHO). Truncheons saw plenty of action in the 2010 student protests as well.

You can't tell me they're all huddled in a corner fretting about Liberty, that's just ridiculous.
