For god's sake I doubt the person who was killed and apperently started this whole thing was an innocent puppy eyed saint.

He wasn't looking with those big eyes at the officer begging for life only to be shot, it was not cold-blooded execution.

There was probably tension, there was a gun, one sudden quick movement from the suspect and a policemen should not take a chance "maybe he will maybe he wont".

He got shot fair and square. There is a suspect, there is a gun, there is tension.
Yes it would have been better and right if they apprehended him alive to perform a trial BUT because of reasons mentioned earlier, he got shot.

You talk of his death as if policeman walked up to a helpless kitten and shot him in cold blood

Sigh. You (and others) still don't get it.

He had a gun, if the police think you're going to use it, you forfeit your life and right to a trial.

You don't have more than a split second to think in these situations.

I never said that. Look at the FACTS that we know at the moment. He had a gun, a pistol, and he was shot by the police. The first part of that sentence is all the justification required.

There is no evidence that he made any action to give the remotest, faintest, slightest hint in any way that he was going to suddenly decide he was going to win in a shoot out against 23 armed officers .. him with his trusty single gun, them all with semi-automatic machine guns.

Out of interest, what about if the police thinks some one 'may have a gun, but may not' .. are they also allowed to execute them in the street then?

Passed aload of cops traveling towards Swansea, accompanied by three off road fire trucks.

also this, might make a dent in the rioters

Do you think its cool to be from 'the hood' or something?

The guy was carrying a LOADED handgun. Most normal people are glad the **** got shot.

I would LOVE to see you trying to arrest this guy who is known to the police and see your reaction as he reveals his gun.

Are you going to wait until you get shot yourself?

Believe it or not, the it was an armed unit which were there to arrest him. They, surprisingly, tend to have training for these matters.

But then, had he been an electrician jumping a barrier...

Your (and others) attitude is one of the reasons these riots are still going on to this extent now.

The police are terrified of doing anything because of people like you.

Damn right the police are acting within the law. The law is not suspended in a riot.

I never had you down as a police hating loon. I'm disappointed.

Ok, I've been in Scotland since Thursday and although I have had the net I still have no idea how the riots started? News websites don't have much info just current goings on with the riots! Any one kind enough to explain why this is happening and how it started?
