Who did say this? The media were doing their very best on Sunday. I pretty sure I remember seeing the Metro claiming the IPCC stated he fired two days ago? The media all seem to have gone quiet on who said he fired/fired first.

That's the thing. There's no need for such a comment. They saw people rioting, and saw people cleaning up, that's it.

When you start mentioning it like the above, I think it opens it up for the more obvious racist comments.

As an aside... I've been posting on a football forum in a thread about this aswell over the last few days, and there hasn't even been a suggestion along these lines.

That is probably what a lot of people are seeing and then it provokes remarks like that, I don't think it is being directly racist.

Saying things like -

"There are no black people in my area so we are safe from riots..."

Is more openly racist.

untill the FULL report comes out it is all speculation imo. the press have said many things about it.

I have no issue with him being ****, carry a gun and karma will get you. I also fully support the police, but to know what actually happened. the full report will need to come out.

Officers shouted at the man to stop but he turned and fired his weapon, hitting one policeman. Luckily, the bullet seemed to ricochet off his radio, and after brief medical attention he was able to go home.

The gunman was not so lucky, however, as he was shot by marksman after discharging his weapon.

Looks like the papers played their part in claiming he fired/fired first and now not a peep after finding out he didn't.

PS - I am not one of the people who think because he didn't open fire, it wasn't justification for the police to shoot.
