just stumbled on the Barca shirt being forced on Fabregas - being led by Reina? Wtf?

TO be honest, its a joke, who cares, Diaby walks around his home in a Spurs shirt because he supports them, is completely rubbish, gets paid way to much, is never fit, and Wenger still won't get rid of him.

I don't really care about the Spurs thing, fans are generally speaking stupid, most players do it for a job, you can't always play for the club you support, that doesn't mean you'll play badly and most players aren't fans of the club they play at. ITs just another in the long list of reasons Diaby shouldn't be at the club.

I care about that, and the fact he'll openly talk about it FAR more than other players putting a shirt on Cesc as a joke.

According to Tim Payton of the Arsenal supporters trust, Fabregas's fee will be around £30m plus £5m in add-ons if he plays 60% of Barca's games & they win 2 La Ligas and a CL. He also says that Fabregas will get a 'loyalty' pay-off from Arsenal, which he's previously said was around £4m.

So Arsenal could end up getting only £26m :o

meh, thats not the story everywhere else, which is basically 35-36mil, then Cesc throwing in 4.5mil over 5 years and giving up his loyalty payment, which makes it 40mil.

We'll see, not sure Tim Payton will know the full details of the move, apparently Wenger didn't even know it was even happening this morning :p

Tim does talk a load of rubbish, so I'd talk it with a pinch of salt. He's harped on about the £4m in the contract for weeks, when in reality no one knows at the moment whether he gets it or not...

Diaby never said he wore the Spurs shirt, merely Younes Kaboul gave him one, and that 'It is more difficult to wear it in the street - there you are not safe.' It's a case of journalists of adding 2+2 and getting 17.

Realistically though, Fabregas is not a very saleable asset. He only wants/wanted to go to Barca and would continue to run down his contract until that was made possible. IMO in this situation anything over £25m is good money for Fabregas, despite the fact that he is probably worth a fair bit more by market rates.

Seems like Fab is gone...£31mill was the price...dunno how true is that as ive heard its close to £35mill.

Anyhow kinda glad that the whole Fab saga is finished but also sad that we have lost a very influential player who will be hard to replace.

As predicted he's told one person that he's not sure if that condition exists.

I heard he flew to Spain but nothing about a deal already being complete. As sad as I will be to see him go I'm relieved that at least we won't be constantly linked every single summer. That will be Wilshere next probably.

Ok, word on the street is that the Fabregas deal isn't actually done yet and Arsenal are upset that Barca leaked reports saying it was done :o

From the general stories its 30-31mil upfront, its 900k a year from fabregas himself for 5 years, thats the 4.5mil, so its 35-36mil all told, then theres another 5mil in addon's, so if Barca do stupidly well in the next few years, Arsenal end up with 40-41mil total.

Not bad, but considering Kaka was 60mil, not "great". However Cesc has given us far more value than that, he's by far the best player in the squad, wins games all on his own frequently, is consistantly our best and most influencial player in big games, like knockout CL rounds and the like. Over the time he's been with us, he's been brilliant, he wanted to leave for a few years, has given us longer than he wanted to, I have no ill feelings towards him at all.

I'd have loved us to ditch Wenger a couple years ago, ditch the crap and been truly competitive and had Cesc want to stay, I'm not blaming Cesc for that.

35m bid from City next summer you can bank on it!

Wenger should have demanded the £40M upfront. Hassle free. Like we did to Real for Ronaldo.

+1.

whats the rush in selling him now? 4 years left out of his contract. dont let him go until barcelona couh up 40m. if it was nasri were talking about, even getting rid of him for 15m is better then him going for free next year.

i cannot for the life of me understand why arsenal caved in as if fabregas could go for free next year.

Dont use the excuse on how keeping a unhappy player affects his peformance because if it did, yea his price tag will decrease but also he wont be a bench warmer for spain international team and barcelona mayalso lose interest in him.

I can only see a win win for arsenal refusing to sell below 40m this summer. why are they soo desperete to flog him for cheap? the more money we get from him the easier it is for us to buy a replacement.
