You obviously didn't know and it should say but I thought no codes on pre-orders was pretty standard practice, I think they used to have a notice though :s

I just talked to EA chat and they told me no discount codes are available :(

They probably sussed it why people were asking for discount codes in the first place

Edit: So how do these discount codes work? Can they only be used on the spot when someone is buying BF3 from any shop; as these don't work on pre-orders?

Does it play ok on a tv ? Interested which models are ok to use with a PC & FPS

You have to be close to the TV to really see what is going on in the game. My 40" TV was wall mounted and I was sitting around 6 feets away and couldn't see the enemies at all. Tbh it was awkward position anyway.

Found the best experience with the pc monitor on a table right in front of you. That way your attention is concentrated and you can see what is going on plus it is highly enjoyable rather than using TV.

Can you not get even a mild clock on it jimlad, say 4ghz or so? The sb's are meant to be pretty cool running cpu's compared to the furnaces that are the older 17 range.

no option buddy, but turbo mode now works apparently since the latest bios flash... whatever that does :D

Here are some of my sceenshots from Alpha Trial. 'Single 5850 Graphics Card'

These are taken from the Original Version of Alpha Trial, and not from the subsequent updated version in which people reported higher FPS.

Screen Resolution: 1920 x 1080p, Full Screen Enabled, Graphics Quality High

Enjoy!!

My system specs:

[email protected] (378MHz x 9)
4GB DDR2 1066MHz (running at DDR2 1005MHz)

HD5850@725/1000Mhz (Stock)

Interesting, from that system information you give, does that mean my e8400 3.0 would be ok for running the game as i would prefer to upgrade my graphic card 4870 rather than the whole CPU.???

Nice to know that the samsung TV works with it, i never thought about using my Samsung tv to play pc games never thought it would work with imput lag and all.

Your dual core will be weaker than your gpu shadowcreeper. Like bfbc2, this game will really benefit from a quad core cpu.

I'm quite happy not pushing my 2500k beyond 4Ghz. If quad optimised games hit over 70% util over all cores I'd clock it up, but it doesn't therefore I see no need in pushing it further at the moment.
