This would be a great signing for Newcastle after Jose leaving. It seemed also he was looking the move before his granny died
 
More doom and gloom from the regulars I see on the arsenal front. From what I saw yesterday I don't think it is all as bad as some think.

Cahill looked good but I think they only showed him involved in the goal so can't say what he did for the rest.

However I would say even if fab and nasri stayed we still need four or five players. Our bench looked weak again and despite some glimpses of skill from arshavin we miss some strong characters in the team.

Would love Wenger to buy but I honestly feel we are going into the season feeling we are ready. I wouldn't jump the gun and call for the head of Wenger though. Who would replace him?

Tuesday is going to be a big day. Let's hope it doesn't take going out of the CL to force them into the transfer Market.

The vastly under-rated pundit that is Paul Merson made a great observation about Arsenal yesterday.

If the team wasnt good enough to win the league last season how will selling a full back and arguably two of your top 3 players without major replacement make you better equiped to challenge this season when your rivals have strengthened?

Most arsenal fans said you needed at least one CB and a MF player at the end of last season, some would say an experienced GK too although i like the young guy you have.

Those positions have not been filled so far.

Add to that you will lose Cesc and Nasri, so thats another two players. Clichy has already gone.

Bedtner is also apparently away, albeit he isnt a first XI starter.

Thats half a team that needs replacing and really only Gervinho(sp?) brought in who can be expected to walk into the team.

How is that "ready" to challenge this season?

Had we ditched Wenger 2 months ago, we had more choices, and more time to get a real god damned manager in.

As you said, even with Fabregas, we'd need 5 more players. Bendtner, Eboue, Clichy, Fab are 4 players who should be first team, Nasri, meh, he just doesn't fit in, not a winger, not a striker, not a central midfielder, good bench warmer though.

We've not even brought in enough replacements for the guys who will be leaving shortly, let alone strengthening vs last season, and definately not vs the season before or the season before that.

I've been complaining for 6 years because this season has been steadily but slowly coming. Huge wage bill and no champs league football and we're boned. We'd need to ditch basically 4 100k a week quality players to not end up losing 20mil a year. Every year we've lost quality players and brought in crap replacements. This season we're looking at losing what should be 5 first team players, as yet we've got one real potential first team replacement, Gervinho, and he was woeful, and being played out of position.

Wenger really is a complete idiot, he's lost it. Theres no reason we couldn't have got Boas at the beginning of summer, if he had the choice of a sensible board and good squad at Arsenal or the maniac and potentially very short job at Chelsea, who knows which he'd choose, and theres a bunch of other managers around who wouldn't be as retarded as Wenger.

I think thats a really unfai comment. I have my views, i have posted them, you dont have to take it personally like i am attacking you if i criticise a move the club/manager makes. I disagree with what other people put too, but but everyone has their opinion so you just have to respect that, even if you dont necessarily agree.

At the end of the day, even though you may have disagreed with my outlook, you know that i have been right on a good few accounts and that in some way you do agree with me, but of course not on everything,

I think you should carry on posting. I disagree with pretty much everything you say and in fact think some of what you say is a complete disgrace but that doesnt mean you cant say it.

When you say stupid things its only you that looks stupid so carry on tbh.

I don't think it is as bad as DM says but I do agree we should have strengthened three years ago not now.

But now we have gone into a stage where we seem to be losing some promising players who have underachieved in favour of keeping the rubbish.

With gervinhio out or whatever his name is, it would have been a good time for Bendtner to step in.

Long gone are the years when I genuinely start the season thinking we can win the league and if lucky the CL. I still think we will challenge for a CL spot but anything else would be a real surprise.

You were challenging for the title and optimistic at 10.30 this morning, whats happened??
 
When I was at the match yesterday Arsenal really lacked a striker who was hungry for goals. The chances were created against us but there was no one there to finish for you. I think a striker is a major need for arsenal to be honest.

Even with Fabregas and Nasri gone you still have good enough midfield players to play and create chances. Just no one to finish them
