Not always, the squeeze that can be achieved at the top of many reps can help to stimulate hypertrophy, its entirely dependent on the movement.

that's why i said "most" exercises, but usually people lock out on every exercise, which is bad, then they wonder why they get injuries. locking out is bad, unless your deadlifting, etc.
 
as a brand name they aren't regarded very highly, it's also a UK company selling just to the UK market, therefore its a rather small company.

i would trust gaspari over them tbh, nothing against british companies or them being small, but the most famous one is maximuscle, and we all know how much of a con they are.

take a look at the iso synergy deal on at holland and barret, someone posted it earlier in the thread, about 20-30 posts back

Lol mate I was the one that actually brought up the Synergy thing in the first place :D I will continue with the Sci MX stuff for now as I actually like the taste and the price aint bad via ebay.

Might consider the synergy anyway as its a decent price. Gotta check my finances.

im skeptical about sci mx, a lot of companies sell rubbish, they may or not be one of them, i prefer to go with someone more reputable and a lot of backing behind them.
 
Good to know it's good, i have reflex osx and im not getting on with the taste at all.

the best tasting decently priced shake is myofusion, cheapest supplier is cheapuksupplements or monster supplements usually, if taste is a factor, i highly recommend trying some, once you go to myofusion, you never want another brand ever again.
 
I've been using USN Muscle Fuel Anabolic for the last couple of months, one in the morning alongside my breakfast and one after my workout. I've noticed some good gains, more so than when I was using Hurricane XS from MP.

The downside is my belly is now getting bigger so I was thinking of ditching the all in ones and going for something different with the aim of mainly protein. Would Recovery XS be a good bet or there's also Total Protein on MP, 46g per serving sounds ideal, the only thing is I'm worried about ditching the creatine totally...

Before taking Hurricane XS I was on a mix of just whey protein and scottish oats but didn't feel it did anything for me, used to always feel bloated and it got to the point where I dreaded taking them.

So in a nutshell, Total Protein or Recovery XS? :)
 
If you're worried about ditching creatine pick a bag up from MP along with your order it's cheap as dirt and personally I'd go with the Total Protein as I like to be able to take it anything extra as and when I want rather than being stuck with pre mix.

They've been busted for telling porkies before, and are currently being chased up by the fda.

I've been training for quite some time, so i know what to buy and where, but thanks all the same.

Plus i've been through nearly all of them anyway, i'll probably buy iron science and stick with them, mp have changed suppliers and a lot of folk now hate their protein.

be careful with powdered creatine, it tastes horrible, capsules may be needed, its a hold your nose and chug type deal, or maybe it was just the creatine i tried was bad.

they learnt their lesson from that ordeal and their figures were only slightly off if i remember correctly, like instead of 26g of protein per scoop it was 22g.

i dont think they will want to ruin their reputation by cutting corners now
 
creatine mono hydrate is fairly tasteless. the phosphate one and others might taste bad though.

i dont know which one it was, i got a tub for free with an order and it was awful, i binned it.

i have got some decent stuff now, but not stated taking it yet, hopefully it is tasteless as you say or else i will get a capping kit.
 
Creatine Mono is completely tastless, which is a HUGE bonus as I previously came from CEE, which tastes like garbage

Saying that though, apart from Sizeon and Superpump, all supplements are fairly high on the bad taste scale to me, but I just neck them back as fast as I can
 
I'm with you on the creatine tastes bad point. Same for Glutamine.

pfft pansy. :p Glutamine tastes a tad weird but I can easily chug a scoop with half a glass of water. Try doing that with BCAAs :D

speaking of BCAAs I gave up the capping when I discovered orange squash. Bear in mind that this needs to be done in a bottle/shaker, but a reasonable amount of orange squash +BCAA is quite ok. I have a capping kit and lots of caps but I simply can't be bothered now that I discovered the holy squash. :D

What he said. Glutamine compared to BCAA, there's no comparison. Usually chug the two together, one after another. Always go for BCAA first and then Glutamine as Gluta taste positively divine after the nasty hell that is BCAA
 
Just ordered 1000 Omega caps http://www.myprotein.com/uk/products/omega_3 ... Tell you what My protein take the ****, been waiting for Super Omega 3 for 2 weeks now and they have told me twice that it was coming into stock. Bad stock control, good way to lose loyal customers. From what i hear they have gone downhill bigtime since the takeover.

I could do with some more impact whey, I used myprotein before once and it was great but since prices have changed and they were taken over is it still worth a go or should I try elsewhere?
