I have a very empty feeling this evening :(

It wasn't even as bad when Thierry left. At least we had his best years and he was in decline when we sold him. Cesc is just going to get better and better and we haven't got a hope of signing anyone nearly as good as him.

These are dark days for my beloved Arsenal. Serious keep your chin up time.

LOL.

Fancy new stadium + extremely good financial foundation + ~pretty football~ + staying in the top four for ages - losing Fabregas = dark days?

Okay.

Doesn't mean anything if you have no chance of winning trophies.

I miss Highbury. Starting to wonder whether the emirates was a mistake.

I think foreign billionaires with vast pockets and the teams they own have been more of a hinderance, stadium or no stadium.

Hilariously, we finally got one of those but our one is a tightwad who owns about 5 teams and treats it like a business to make money rather than an indulgence to spend it, so there won't be any money thrown at the club to spend.

I am not personally calling for Wengers head. I still rate him highly as a manager although I question his abillity to make signings. He keeps commenting on how great our squad is yet we see each time they play that all of our players aren't as great a quality as he makes out. Then on new signings he says this:

"We will try [to buy] but let's not forget that we have brought players in. I have Carl Jenkinson, we have bought Gervinho in, we have bought Joel Campbell in, we have brought Ryo Miyaichi in. You do not know them very well yet but they are all quality players."

If those players are the quality that will improve us then I am sure we could find about 100 players to bring in. He says about only bringing in BETTER quality than what we have yet none of those are BETTER than what we have surely? They have that majic word POTENTIAL about them but nothing more.

Tomorrow is going to be the big day for us with the CL game and not an easy draw either.

I still have belief in the team and manager but I hope he doesn't wait until January before making the changes that are needed when our season is over. We still have a chance in all competitions to win something at the moment. Strengthening now is needed.

We winge because this is a team that can beat Chelsea, United and Barcelona on their day, and for 3/4 of a season look like we might win something, then we groundhog day into epic fail, at the same time of year, every year. "Doing the same thing over and over and expecting different results is the definition of crazy", or however the quote goes. It's that lack of action in making the changes that could take us past the line of fail into the line of win that's the source of so much frustration, and this season we seem to be starting off where we left off last time, rather than with the optimism that's usually displayed.

I Agree. Our team needs tweaking rather than redoing. A player here and a player there and we could have won some things. But instead we look like we are going to win something, then we get an injury to a bunch of players, and then the same thing happens again the following year. And again...

The only thing that I have seen improved on is RVP not playing every game and him having a break for a game or two. Seems to be helping his fitness.

Apparently Arsenal have a buy-back clause and 50% sell on clause for Cesc. He didn't take his loyalty payment by all account either (£4m)
