Leaving my job to be self employed in IT. Watch this space!

I wish you the very best of luck. This is a market that is super competitive and can seem a nice easy get rich quick scheme. In reality of course, that isn't the case.

Hopefully you're business plan will hold up and you'll get the traction required to make this thing work.

I'm a self employed IT business owner, I wish you every success with your venture, as long as you live no where near me. Any advice etc. just drop me a message.

Thanks I think. :p I'm nowhere near you, in Preston.

Currently in my office job, have 4 hours left and then I'm out of here forever. :)

Just how he always insisted that you need to close your eyes and take a risk sometimes, it was about 6 months ago but it stuck in my head.

In any business you have to take risk.

It's time to see if it'll work. Have to work notice, so could be a few weeks until I know if I've just committed financial suicide. :p

I wouldn't say it is financial suicide if your business fails. Just get another job and providing you haven't sunk too much capital into your business, you can repay your debts in a year or so and then plan your next big move.

Good luck man and let us know how it goes.

Out of interest SMR, what do you do?
Do you have a website (if its not a competitor to OCUK)?

we threw away 3x IBM servers that cost £2,000,000 each... still they were almost a year old... and IBM did ONLY offer £900,000 each for them to take them back...

I had the badge as a trophy from one of them but lost it sigh...

BS! No company in their right mind would throw away money like that.

They wouldn't. If there was a genuine buyback offer of £900k, no company would throw them away. Even if it meant destroying the storage seperately.

I wonder what proportion of words on the internet are true?

Couldn't agree more.

I really don't understand what drives people to post that type of rubbish online.

Well, a month later and it's good news.

Business is strong, admittedly it's an easier start than most as I work with a major recycling firm but still, it has taken some effort.

I now supply quite a few businesses, and things are only set to improve. It's keeping up with demand that is proving interesting!

Thanks for all the well wishes, guys. :)
