****The Official Samsung Galaxy S II Thread***

I have to agree tbh, when I get a new phone I'll either sell it to someone I know or just send it to whichever company gives the most at the time.

Ebay etc. just aren't worth the hassle IMO.

Relevance to a more recent device.

I picked one from a year ago intentionally, but it actually looks like they very on other factors. The HTC Sensation will pay only £120?!?!?! They're around £300 still... wow.

Anyway, yeah, I understand it being easier. Maybe it's because I'm in London, you can sell, cash on collection pretty easy is all.

i have a spare samsung battery that i kept when i returned my duff phone :D

i alternate between the two, which allows me to run a battery down to almost dead before a full recharge. i know people say otherwise but my personal view is constant charging does not do the battery any good, i believe (IMO) its better to full charge and then fully unload, with one battery that is not always possible

If the battery was Ni-Cd I'd agree with you, but it's not so I don't.

Nice update, I like!

On top of that I have Lite'ning ROM configured to match nicely now :D

Still can't get over how black the screen is :p

I was using the Vanilla modaco rom but the stock clock app gives a FC when setting the alarm time and this morning my alarm didn't go off at all.

Been running Litening all day and it's caned my battery.

Which ROM shall I try next?

Try...them all?!

The amount of icons on your desktop!

Wondered why you hadn't posted a screenshot in ages! :p

Oh ignore that for the moment, my desktop is empty unless I'm photo editing in which case I will leave temporary photos there while I work through in Lightroom and Photoshop :p

Once editing is finished the photos are filed away leaving the desktop empty again :)

How do you guys cope with the lack of LED notification light? I've been using the app NoLED but I'm concerned that it might impact battery.

Cope how exactly? :p

My phone is with me all day every day so chances of me not hearing or feeling a notification are very slim but in case I do then just turn the screen on and glance for all but 2 seconds.

I've created various blips and bloops from longer sounds found online that are used for many notifications.

The beauty of Android is you can specify individual sounds for every app so I have certain types of blips for Gmail, GTal;k, Whatsapp, SMS, Wordfeud etc.

Look up BLN (Back Light Notification) on XDA or elsewhere.

In short, you can use the bottom 3 lights as a notification feature :)

How do you get the round battery indicator in the status area ? Seen it on a few shots from people but not seen it on the market. or is it part of a rom/theme?

And along the same lines how do you customise the colour of the notification toggles ? I suspect it's part of the rom/theme too ?

Both are part of the ROM :p

K stupid problem, I got SwiftkeyX installed and was working fine, but believe I somehow turned it off, now when I go to my settings and Language and Keyboard settings, I have SKx ticked, but its not using it as the default keyboard in email/ Messaging...anyone have an idea whats going on?

I have tried power on off, ticking on and off, closing SKx in the task Manager but now its jsut not showing.

NoLED is great, and cos its an AMOLED screen it shouldnt be using that much battery as it should only be lighting up the pixels it needs.

When this happens the only option is to wipe your phone and start from scratch :(
