Touchstones at Argos are looking full price to me :/

I can only see the standing charging dock for £70 508/6232 Not a great deal considering most people are paying £89 for the tablet!!

You've probably found it by now (searching for 'Touchstone') but just in case...

508/6232

Not discounted yet though :)
Ah... No discount...no interest :) Although I am gonna probably not going to buy accessories till the TouchPad is in my hands. Don't want to tempt fate!

Cool thanks, I got the Touchstone thing for £35 from PC Place earlier. Not opened yet though.

hmm is there a way of searching more than two stores at at time on argos this takes the **** :\

icheckstock.co.uk If you find a single reservable unit nationwide, you can have a cookie!

Nowhere seems to be selling the smaller charging thing that just looks like a little "stump" although I would get either for £35 (the one you got is not available in any stores near me :( for that price).

How hard is it for them just to change TWO prices on their own website?? If their text system is showing the price then why all this rigmarole??

Retailers are only lowering prices once HP have confirmed to them that they will supply them a partial refund to cover their costs. Its not quite as easy as HP sending a memo to all the retailers telling them they will honour it. There are contracts and other such things that i dont understand to be discussed / approved.

I have heard the Tesco one was being agreed today...although they are showing as out of stock now - probably people purchasing them hoping to get the refund post purchase...which they will.

I don't really know why I want one so much anyway.

I'll probably never use it.

I'm a stupid sheep.

I just want them for the business (exhibtions etc) and so I can leave my laptop in my room and browse the web downstairs. £89 (or £72 for me ex VAT) is a bargain even just for a digital brochure for the business.

The way I look at it, and told a mate earlier who missed out, "This time 2 days ago you had no intention of spending £89/£115 or getting a HP Touchpad. The fact that others have got one and you haven't shouldn't ruin your day/week/life".

Exactly the whole thing has a touch of the Wii about it to me. Everyone now thinks they need one. I ordered one off amazon lat night at midnight, checked tesco this morning and they had none. I'm not wasting my life refreshing screens over something I wouldn't have normally bought.

If it comes it comes I'm not wasting hours on it or driving miles to source one when I have a far superior ipad anyway ;)

Funnily enough when looking at work last night the only person to get one only bought one because a couple of others wanted one. He has no idea what it is or what it can do but bought one anyway :D

Having said that, it is easy for me to preach an ideal system when I already have a guaranteed Touchpad and others are waiting.

Yeah amazing how fast it changes you tune ;)

:p

Does the fact Argos are selling in store at £89 mean Tesco must price match?

I guess when Argos' website actually show the lower price then Tesco will match it. Until that happens, this is what will continue to show on the Tesco product page (for the 16Gb at least)...

Earlier today that list did include quite a few other retailers but since their stock has been nuked then the list grows shorter :)

I can't seem to get App Catalog working on my Touchpad - is anyone else having the same experience?

yeah yeah - were all experiencing the same difficulty - thats why we've spent two days trying to clamber around very slow websites to secure one of these tablets ;) :p
