hi,
just joined to say:

ordered 2 from CPW right after the price drop,
order numbers: 30xx and 42xx
got the "sorry it will take longer" text and email yesterday.
still no sign of anything. :/

Well my order has yet to be rejected. Maybe they saw my email domain and couldn't get over how amazing it was and are just getting their feet together before sending me my order processed confirmation email.

Maybe...

and you ordered from................?

I am holding my hopes up for this HP link from earlier.... The more I think about it the more it makes sense. Obviously suppliers like play.com sent their quota back to them, I'm sure a few others would have also.

This whole thing has increased the value of the Touchpad to some people who don't really know any better.

It's certainly worth £89/£115 but the £200/£250 it seems to be going for on auction place is way off the mark.

While i agree with you 100% it's not worth £200 to *me* these were selling for £350/£400 so it's still a saving of £150. I mean i know they weren't very successsful but people did buy them at those original prices.

They were sold at those original prices as a going concern, it's not just the hardware spec but the software support and so on that matters.

It's like the difference between an empty building and a business that has been trading for years at a given location.

Empty building = £1500/month rent

Going concern = £400k + £1500/month rent.

Is it worth buying from a retailer that wont have a refund scheme in place on the assumption that HP will refund directly?

I don't see how they could do, if local retailer X is selling at 500+ how can refund that much directly to the customer?

My CPW one now says dispatched:
Your order has been dispatched. Your order should arrive on Thu, 25 Aug 2011.
Your City Link Job No. for tracking purposes is: JD000221331099XXXX
