So you are saying HP has no stock in the UK, none being returned from retailers?

Any returned stock will fulfill internal orders for employees who missed out.

Is it worth buying from a retailer that wont have a refund scheme in place on the assumption that HP will refund directly?

I don't see how they could do, if local retailer X is selling at 500+ how can refund that much directly to the customer?

I was wondering that, there's a lot of people out there who'll be rather miffed at having just missed out and paid full price.

Incidentally I work for the company HP just bought and have been told HP's CEO will be paying a visit to my office later today. Think its worth it to ask him about touchpad availability?
