****The Official Samsung Galaxy S II Thread***

I came from Lite'ning (poor battery), through Cognition to VillianRom. Seems pretty good, very stable and gives me good battery life. Anyone else tried it?

Anyone had issues with the perfurated samsung case?

My dad and i both have the same case, and we both have the same problem, that when talking to people on the phone, the receiver will always hear an echo of themselves, and once the case is removed, the issue is no longer there?

Anyone else experienced this? Apologies if its already been posted :)

I have the same case but have not experienced the phenomenon.

+1 for batista70 came from lightning 6.1. Tried a few others but this one is ace. Definitley snappiest I've used. I was having trouble with accessing phone via USB previous, stock and lightning but with Batista when you connect you can drop the notification window and click the USB attachment and it forces your phone to show as a drive rather than a camera. For the record it only became stable after factory wipe partition wipe and dalvarik wipe then flashing .

You need to put it on the internal "sd card" I think . At least I couldn't find any way to navigate in recovery mode to the external sd card but i've only used it a couple of times.

I had problems trying to flash Batista70 earlier from CWM and ended up just booting into download mode and using odin to put litening rom on instead :D so i'll just try that for a while and see what it's like.

Why are you putting it on the sd card? Put it on the internal memory. There's no need to even touch the SD card in any instance!

Wasn't a fan of Villain, GingerVillain on the desire is far superior to VillainRom on the GS2 :(

CM7/Modaco for me, after trying your 3 and the two I prefer. Loving the ability to edit the pull down shortcut icons on CM7 and the battery life on Modaco with nin 2.1.2.

Lol , I realised that after about 30 secs when the zip wasn't showing up in recovery mode, but when the instructions over at XDA Say "download the rom to the sd card" and it's only the 2nd time flashing your week old phone you do what they say and err on the side of caution to avoid a £400 ornamental paperweight :p

Either way I still had problems with batista once it was on the internal rom storage - to do with unsigned package I think it was and the update just seemed to stop after about 10-20% and just sit there so took the battery out and flashed litening in odin .

Might have another go in a week or so after i've seen how litening is.

i'm using crisleko (something like that) and find it better than lightning (was using it till v5 or so).

like the menu bar improvements too - like the old oxygen on the desire. adamGs new oxygen is what i'm waiting for - once it has a2dp issues fixed

wifi, data, bluetooth, gps, sound, rotation

can you change them?

Enable USB debugging, it's enabled by default though....

You guys are aware of the shortcuts in Samsung based ROMs yep? like dragging the motification bar left/right to adjust screen brightness, couble tapping home to launch voice command and the ability to fully control an active call from the notification bar so you can use another app during a call?

Oh and Samsung Dive, it has the accuracy to be able to pin the Maps marker over the room the phone is in AND has the ability to turn GPS on if you left it off or a thief turns it off. The latter part is something no other phone has IIRC.

Stuff like that is why I won't be moving to any other non Samsung based ROM. If those can be ported over then I will though, but never a moment before.
