****The Official Samsung Galaxy S II Thread***

My girlfriend has got hold of a HTC Sensation I set it all up for her as she is coming over to Android from an iPhone 4.
After messing with the phone for a while it dawned on me that I have grown to appreciate the way the SGSII does things over the HTC Sensation.
Dont get me wrong i came over from a HTC Desire but the Sensation and HTC Sense don't do it for me the way SGSII does things. I like the way the SGSII allows me to do the things I wish to do.
 
It's funny, my housemate just for the Sensation, I was quite enjoying the frills, animations and graphics that come with Sense... I think it's definitely good for iPhone converts as they generally like the fancy looking bits.
 
Tried a few roms now and have to say that Batista 3.7.4 with the removal of apps appears to be the best by far :D Will take me a while to get used to the size of this phone but loving it so far :D

Kreeee, there's a removal of apps zip that you install from recovery after installing the rom that gets rid of virtually all the bloat :) Works a treat :D
 
Quite impressed with the battery life on Batista 3.7.2. The phone has been off charge since 9am this morning, it has only had light use (a few emails and sms messages), wireless and data enabled and it is still on 98% battery. It had some pretty heavy use yesterday (phone calls lots of internet browsing\youtube) and was on around 20% by 1am.
 
mrgubby, is there any way to change the messaging shortcut at the bottom of the homescreen for a different one? I want to use handcent but holding to drag to the bin doesn't seem to work :(

You mean the icon or the application? If you mean icon you could install Go Launcher?

Well it's just the shortcut, there's 4 at the bottom on the home screen, Phone, Contacts, Messaging, Apps. I want messaging to fire up Handcent or be able to remove messaging and replace with the Handcent shortcut. I'll check Go Launcher, but thought it would be easy enough to change :(

I've restored back to Batista 3.7.2.

While Leomars was good I felt the themes available were not as polished as Batista 3.7.2 (notably the icons and noti bar drop down).

I am using the Revolution kitchen app though as a lot of the mods work as it's stilla KH3 based ROM :p

If it's using the standard launcher you change those shortcuts by going to the App Draw then pressing menu>edit :).

It says "custom launcher layout and wallpaper" so I'd guess it's still using TouchWiz so it should work.
