Forza 4

Always quite liked Sedona personally. Some interesting corners (although I hated that bloody chicane which slowed you to a crawl if you so much as touched the dirt!)

I detest the full version. The club circuit is OK, but the sticky grass gets the organised event competitors rather annoyed. The blinding sun at the hairpin on the reverse version is a challenge.

Ok any news on how the MP is going to be done for this? FM2 Style rooms or FM3?

Allot of my freinds who play are saying they wont buy it if its FM3 style rooms, and while i never really had a problem with it if my freinds aint getting it then I dont really see the point in me getting it.

One feature I know our community will be excited about is the return of user hosted public lobbies. How will these work in Forza 4?

We’re happy to be bringing back user-hosted public lobbies, as we know it’s a feature that the community was asking for after Forza Motorsport 3. If you’ve played earlier version of Forza, you’ll be right at home with the public lobbies in Forza 4. If you’re new, here’s how it works: when you “Create Race” you have the option to make it “Public.” In Forza 3, these were always private. When you go to “Find Race,” there is an option to search “User-Create Races.” Here you can search by general category (i.e., circuit, timed race, drag, drift, custom, etc.) or even set advanced search settings per category. For example, advanced search on “Tag” includes filtering by “It” Class and “Not It” class and advanced search on “Drift” includes class, drive-type and collision mode.

I used to detest the full Sedona, I quite like it nowadays, its definitely grown on me, same as Road America, I used to hate that track SO much!!

Road America is excellent in something with a bit of power - say 350bhp+ in B class minimum.

Sedona Full and the Ladera tracks do my head in. Not too keen on Amalfi coast either.

Recently tried a go again at FM3 and I can't get over how nasty the cars feel compared to GT5, I'm not a hater I just don't remember it being so difficult to keep the car in a straight line :(

I love road america!

Under the Hood Part 2..

Lets get the bad stuff out first.
No Night/Weather
No Bugatti La Sarthe Layout (Still has classic/current main La Sarthe)
No Almalfi long (I assume RDP) gone, but the shorter track remains
No New York

It's worth reading before getting too upset, they are very honest and open as to why decisions where made.

The good stuff:
- Tracks have been given an overhaul
- Reworked steering
- Reworked suspension
- Track 'bumpiness' amped up
- Pirelli data for tyre model (We knew this!)
- Much improved PI system to be more accurate and address the AWD issues
- List of cars that if you have in FM3 will make it to your FM4 garage
- More unicorn cars + auction house improvements to help you spot them, and can be dished out from community events.

The night/weather was always something I thought they'd not achieve without sacrificing other graphical detail and framerate, but I am a a little disappointed that The Bugatti layout has been shelved for time/resource or whatever issues, it was a great track for lower class touring car style series.
The physics will be interesting, I was impressed by FM3 for it's nuanced tyre model, lots of 'feel' of what is going on using a Wheel, but it lacked the top level cursory stuff that other games have done better.. They say FM4 is even better in how the tyre load nuances are felt, and it has a much improved top level weight transfer 'feel', then it might turn out to be a very happy compromise..
Mind you I hope it's not too OTT in the pendulation snap effect, it's nice on the surface in games like GT5, but taken to extremes such as iRacing / Race07 / GTR, it can be too fun sapping for me..

No night? Lame.

If you read the reasoning, it doesn't sound Lame.

I want night / weather to be done properly, and not kill the detail level/solid 60fps..

I think realistically we need to wait for the next gen xbox (2 years?) to get it all..

GTR2 had night racing and TBH it's less fun than you'd think. It gets old pretty quickly not being able to see where you're going properly - especially online with n000bs around.

we added the “simulation steering” option. This option removes all of the controller aides. There were very few of these aides on the wheel controller, but there were several on the console controller. With these aides removed, you will no longer get help finding the right counter-steering angle. If you over-countersteer (meaning you overcorrect by steering into the angle of the slide), the wheels do as commanded. This usually results in a wicked tank-slapper.
\0/ FINALLY!

I play night on GT5 quite a lot, I enjoy the challenge :)

does the 'simulation steering' mean that no matter what speed you go, if you turn fully to the right it will turn the wheels full lock to the right?

if so that is epic suckiness because you really need speed sensitive steering on the controller. ive tried without it on GTR2 and its impossible at high speeds
