****The Official Samsung Galaxy S II Thread***

why is it when restoring missing apps with data using Titanium backup do i sometimes have to ok and install each and every app.. other times they just start restoring?

Factory Data Reset

Ok so when i sold the wifes S2 i when to the Privacy settings and did a factory data reset.
It made the phone go back to how it was when bought.

Ive ive installed batista and done this what will happen? will it remove batista?

Got Villain up and running so thanks to all that helped me get through that :)

Now I am interested in learning more about apks and how to use/install them. So if anyone is able to point me in the direction of a guide that would be brilliant

Cheers

sorry mate not quite with you? you already have batista installed and want to upgrade to this latest version? if so the creator does say to 'wipe' phone with this update, so ideally you would need titanium backup and backup your apps and data, wipe phone, install latest version and then restore apps. If that is what you mean.

Nothing really to say really .apks are like .exe files, select the .apk in a file explorer and it will either run a program or install a program.

hi mate,

i know when the phone has the stock kernal and you do it, it goes back to like when it was first bought. i just wondered if something would go wrong if i tried doing it now when i have the batista rom.

going to try and attempt to get it back to stock like when i bought it.

A factory reset won't remove the Batista Rom it will mearly wipe all personal info , installed program, data and settings.

To get it back to "stock" you will have to reflash an official firmware, modem, kernal etc.

yeah correct, you can find all of them on XDA

just flashed from kf3 to kh3 via odin, updated fine and all apps/settings still intact. I thought this would wipe it?

not complaining though!

best. phone. ever. to date. :p only gripe coming from a desire HD is the lightweight feeling of the build quality... bit off putting. battery life seems soooo much better than the desire HD. took it off charge this morning and its only gone down 1 bit

i changed songs on my s2 while riding my vespa, it caught a pocket of wind and flew out my hand, the headphone cable allowed me to perform a matrix style save... so yes i agree its very lite and not aerodynamic if holding flat doing 40mph on a vespa :D

Couple of weeks when you handle someone elses phone it all makes sense and you really appreciate just how well constructed your SGS2 is compared to some of the otHer Tech Companies products are ;)

If you haven't got a Samsung Mesh case get one - it make the phone feel infinitely better.

And yes the battery life is awesome. :)
