Changing oil then fiddling with gearing is the key to victory

Going long or short on gearing depending on the track is the difference between winning and losing, as I found out the hard way when I used short gearing on Monza and forgot that it includes quite a long straight.
I ended up hitting the rev limiter because the straight was rather longer than I remembered and I'd set the top speed too low (I did this before we had custom gearing options, damn PD and their unfinished game heh). In order to stay in the lead I had to play slightly dirty and ram anyone that passed me on the straight so they ploughed into the barrier at the end
All in all, I didn't enjoy that championship a great deal, especially as I also couldn't save between races like you can now and had to do the full 120 laps in one sitting.
